Video: FBI Probe Into Clinton Emails Expanded To Look Into Clinton Foundation Malfeasance

Washington insiders have long maintained that the biggest scandal of Hillary Clinton’s scandal-prone political career, is not EmailGate, but the Clinton Foundation’s sketchy fundraising practices.

Now the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, has been expanded to probe the apparent “intersection” of Clinton Foundation work and State Department business to see if it violated public corruption laws, Fox News reported this morning.

This comes in the wake of rumors that the investigation was completed and the case against Clinton was “locked up.” Well, maybe not-so-much.

Three intelligence sources not authorized to speak on the record told Fox News that the “new investigative track is in addition to the focus on classified material found on Clinton’s personal server.”

“The agents are investigating the possible intersection of Clinton Foundation donations, the dispensation of State Department contracts and whether regular processes were followed,” one source said.

The development follows press reports over the past year about the potential overlap of State Department and Clinton Foundation work, and questions over whether donors benefited from their contacts inside the administration.

According Fox News, pressure was building inside the FBI to pursue the case.

One intelligence source told Fox News that FBI agents would be “screaming” if a prosecution is not pursued because “many previous public corruption cases have been made and successfully prosecuted with much less evidence than what is emerging in this investigation.”

The FBI is particularly on edge in the wake of how the case of former CIA Director David Petraeus was handled.

One of the three sources said some FBI agents felt Petraeus was given a slap on the wrist for sharing highly classified information with his mistress and biographer Paula Broadwell, as well as lying to FBI agents about his actions. Petraeus pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in March 2015 after a two-plus-year federal investigation in which Attorney General Eric Holder initially declined to prosecute.

In the Petraeus case, the exposure of classified information was assessed to be limited.

By contrast, in the Clinton case, the number of classified emails has risen to at least 1,340. A 2015 appeal by the State Department to challenge the “Top Secret” classification of at least two emails failed and, as Fox News first reported, is now considered a settled matter.

On Sunday,  Hillary Clinton tried to brazen her way through questions by CBS host John Dickerson  about new revelations from her private email server.

Clinton said the “important point” was she had “great confidence“ she wasn’t in breach of government regulations on classification.

“In fact, as the State Department has said, there was no transmission of any classified information, so it’s another effort by people looking for something to throw against the wall … to see what sticks, but there’s no ‘there’ there,” she said.

Dickerson wasn’t finished, though, pointing to a 2011 email showing Clinton expressing surprise that another State Department staffer wasn’t using a government account, even while she was flouting rules by using a private email to do business.

That was “what you were doing,” Dickerson said, so “why was that a surprise to you?”

“Well, I emailed two people on their government accounts, because I knew that all of that would be part of the government system, and indeed, the vast majority of all my emails are in the government systems, so that’s how I conducted the business,” she said. “I was very clear about emailing anything having to do with business to people on their government accounts.”

In other words, Clinton did not answer the question about her fairly blatant hypocrisy.

I’m sure I don’t have to remind my readers what I’ve been saying since last March.

  1. Without the presence of Comey’s involvement I’d agree that there isn’t much of a chance of pursuing Hillster. With Comey there will be a open revolt against Lynch and the administration. They tried to muzzle him after San Bernardino and couldn’t. I wouldn’t doubt that behind the scenes Jarrett is hoping for this, to take out the Clinton”s.

If and when it happens waiting in the wings will be Mikey Bloomberg who can well afford to finance his own campaign keeping in step with Trump. He is perhaps the only politician from either party who Trump hasn’t bought off at one time or the other. There is no way they can have “The Bern” have a face to face with any republican candidate.

In the meantime, the Super Sleuth repubic’s in Congress from at least a half a dozen committees are standing there scratching their collective heads saying. . . . huh? They couldn’t get anything to stick when it was hand fed to them by Judicial Watch.

  2. OK, Hillarious has been getting rich(er) while on the government dole.

So, riddle me this: What congressman, senator, veep, prez or cabinet member HASN’T gotten considerably richer from time served, starting in, say, 1950 onward?

Remember who makes the rules, and for whom those rules are made, and then remember who is exempt from those rules. Ethics? Simply window dressing for the rubes, and to use if one of their own gets out of line…
