Flight 93 Memorial Blogburst #55

Memorial Project officials insist that it was the passengers and crew, not the terrorists, who broke the peace on 9/11

Blogburst logo, petition

The official explanation for the Crescent of Embrace design is that the path of Flight 93 breaks the circle, turning it into the giant crescent. They call it the Circle of Embrace now, but the Memorial Project’s own website acknowledges that the circle is still broken:

In summary, the memorial is shaped in a circular fashion, and the circle is symbolically “broken” or missing trees in two places, depicting the flight path of the plane, and the crash site…

The fact that the Circle of Embrace is really a broken circle means two things. First, it means that the giant crescent is still there. Architect Paul Murdoch always described the Crescent of Embrace as a broken circle. Our circle of peace was broken on 9/11, with the unbroken part of the circle, what was symbolically left standing in the wake of 9/11, being the giant Islamic shaped crescent.

Adding an extra arc of trees that explicitly represents a broken off part of the circle leaves the unbroken part unchanged. What is symbolically left standing on the Flight 93 crash site is still a giant Islamic-shaped crescent, still pointing to Mecca.

This prompts the question of WHO is being depicted as breaking the circle of peace on 9/11. Of course it can only be the terrorists. Who else can be charged with breaking the peace? The murdered passengers and crew?

Once you realize that it can only be the terrorists who are being depicted as turning the circle into a crescent, it is obvious that this is actually a memorial to the terrorists (if that wasn’t obvious enough already from the Crescent name and the crescent and star flag configuration).

The Memorial Project finally answers our question: insists that it was the passengers and crew who broke the circle

Last spring a couple hundred emailers (thanks!) demanded to know “Who broke the circle?” The Memorial Project issued a boiler-plate response that never got around to answering the question. At the Memorial Project meeting last summer, however, Alec Rawls was able to pigeon-hole Memorial Project Manager Jeff Reinbold and Deputy Superintendent Keith Newlin.

“You can’t just say it was ‘the flight path’ that broke the circle” Rawls admonished. “This is a story of human action. So who did it? In your depiction, who is breaking the circle?”

“The passengers and crew,” said Reinbold.

“But the circle is a symbol of peace,” Rawls continued. “Who broke the peace? It was the TERRORISTS who broke the peace on 9/11.”

Reinbold countered that that the circle is also a Druid symbol, and a Christian symbol.

“But it is still a symbol of peace,” said Rawls, especially as the Memorial Project is using it, with the circle being broken on 9/11, “so who breaks it?”

“It was the passengers and crew,” Newlin repeated, elaborating that: “They are the one’s who brought the plane down.”

“You don’t think it was the terrorists who broke the peace?” Rawls asked.

“They TRIED to break the peace,” said Newlin, “but they failed.”

“Really?” asked Rawls: “They failed to break the peace? What about the 40 murdered heroes?” But Reinbold and Newlin were done talking.

Trying to give credit to the passengers and crew for the outcome of Flight 93 is a perfectly creditable motive on the part of Reinbold and Newlin. They aren’t actually trying to blame the passengers and crew for 9/11. What is shameful is their absolute determination not to admit what they perfectly well understand: that it was the terrorists that broke the peace on 9/11.

If they admit this, then they have to acknowledge that Murdoch’s design can only be a memorial to the terrorists, who are depicted as breaking our peaceful circle and turning it into a giant Islamic-shaped crescent. The depth of Reinbold’s and Newlin’s determination not to admit that it was the terrorists who broke the peace is a measure of how clearly they understand the terrorist-memorializing implications.

They KNOW that this is a memorial to the terrorists, and are twisting themselves into knots to try to cover it up.

Not just a memorial to the terrorists, but victory for the terrorists

If the crescent/broken-circle design is built, it will turn Flight 93 into a victory for the 9/11 terrorists. They will actually have succeeded (with the help of architect Paul Murdoch) in planting a giant Mecca-direction indicator (the central feature of a mosque) on the Flight 93 crash site.

This is how Islam claims territory: by building mosques. Saudi Arabia spent over a seventy-five billion dollars in the last forty years funding mosques and madrassas to spread its murder-cult brand of Islam around the globe. That’s where our present conflict with the Islamic world comes from: Saudi Arabia spreading the violent orthodoxy of Wahabbi Islam around the world.

Now we are poised to build the world’s largest mosque for them, a terrorist memorial mosque, dedicated to the Saudi terrorists who mass-murdered our own countrymen on 9/11, and the Memorial Project KNOWS it. They have to be exposed and stopped.

Wednesday’s Hero: Sgt. Patrick Tainsh

This Weeks Post Was Suggested And Written By Brat

Sgt. Patrick Tanish

Sgt. Patrick Tainsh
33 years old from Oceanside, California
Troop E, 2nd Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment
February 11, 2004
U.S. Army

Five years ago today, Sgt. Patrick Tainsh sacrificed all as the mounted unit he
was part of was hit by an IED in Baghdad. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze and Sliver Stars saving the lives of his commanding officer and other soldiers before succumbing to his own wounds. Also killed in the attack was Pfc. William C. Ramirez from Portland, Oregon.

On Veteran’s Day, 2007, Deborah Tainsh, Sgt. Tainsh’s mother, attended a school in Columbia, Georgia, and shared a story she had written called “A Boy Named Patrick.”

Here is part of the story :

…a little boy named Patrick who loved football, beaches, surfing, and
skateboarding, and especially reading. Patrick watched his dad be a Marine for
over twenty years. During this time Patrick kept reading not only surfing and
skateboarding magazines, but history books, too. One day when Patrick was a man, he told his dad and best friend, “I want to do something that will make a
difference in the world, I’m going to be a soldier.” And so he did. And in 1999
he went to Fort Knox, Kentucky for boot camp and then went to Fort Polk,
Louisiana where he worked and trained hard to become a United States Army
Cavalry Scout. Then in 2003 Patrick had to say good bye to his mom and dad
because he had to go fight a war in Iraq to protect his country, friends, and
family from terrorists and to help fight for the freedoms of the boys and girls
in that country where they and their families were treated very badly by their
country’s leader. Patrick once wrote a letter to his mom and dad telling them
that he cried for the children because they were hungry and he didn’t have food
to give them. He said he couldn’t understand how a country’s leader could treat
the people so badly and make them live in such dirty conditions with trash and
wild dogs everywhere. And so Patrick’s mom and dad keep a photo in their living
room of Patrick surrounded by Iraqi children.

You can read the story in it’s entirety here.

Sgt Tainsh came to the military later than some, but rose through the ranks fast. In his last letter to his parents, Sgt Tainsh shared his thoughts about his mission. And in 2006, Sgt. Tainsh’s mother wrote a book called Heart Of A Hawk about her son’s life and her and her husband’s struggles since their son was killed.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

ABC’s Nightline Host To Obama: “Just Fire The Executives Who Wrecked These Banks”

terry-moron

Uh dur!

I heard Rush talking about this on the radio earlier. Unfreakinbelievable. Newsbusters has the transcript:

MORAN: This time, like the Great Depression, it’s the near collapse of the banking system that has helped bring the economy to its knees. There’s one option out there the President rules out. Why not just nationalize the banks?

OBAMA: You know, the scale of the U.S. economy and the capital markets are so vast and the problems in terms of managing and overseeing anything of that scale I think would- our assessment was that it wouldn’t make sense. And we also have different traditions in this country and we want to retain a strong sense of private capital fulfilling the core investment needs of this country.

MORAN: People are angry. There’s so much taxpayer money going into the banks. Why shouldn’t the government – why shouldn’t you just fire the executives who wrecked these banks in the first place and tanked the world’s financial system in the process?

OBAMA: Well, some of them are gone because their institutions have effectively collapsed. You know, keep in mind though there are a lot of banks that are actually pretty well managed. So, what we want to do is to say if you’re take money from the taxpayers then you’re gonna be constrained in terms of how you give yourself compensation and shareholders are gonna be empowered. If you’re not taking money, then you know we’ll let shareholders and boards of directors handle things as they generally have handled them.

Mehbe Teh One should fire all those newspaper execs and auto execs, too, for wrecking their industries.  Hyuck!

Good lord.

Rush railed:

This is supposedly an informed and educated person who’s capable of carrying the Ted Koppel legacy of Nightline: “Why don’t you [the president] just fire these executives who wrecked these banks in the first place and tanked the world’s financial system in the process?”  Why don’t…? The president fire CEOs?  He wants the president to have that kind of power.  Of course the premise of the question was all wrong.  It was not the CEOs at Wall Street that tanked the banks, or the world economy.  Again, it’s Barney Frank, it’s Bill Clinton, it’s Chris Dodd, it’s Fannie Mae, it’s Freddie Mac, it’s the Community Redevelopment Act! It’s the new definition of “affordable housing”: you give people who can’t pay for them, houses.  Folks, as I said, the media, they’re not even curious anymore.  There used to be at least curiosity.  One of the reasons you went into journalism because you were curious and you wanted to be the first to tell people the real truth.  They’re just activists now, and they’re uninformed at the same time.  Pure and simple.

Sept ’08: A $550 Billion Run On Banks Within The Span Of A Few Hours

This is Rep. Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania on CSPAN explaining what former Treasury Secretary Paulson and Fed Chairman Bernanke told congress during the September 2008 closed door session. Pay close attention about 2:15 in:

Here’s a transcript of the most pertinent parts, via Atlas Shruggs:

On Thursday Sept 15, 2008 at roughly 11 AM The Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous draw down of money market accounts in the USA to the tune of $550 Billion dollars in a matter of an hour or two. Money was being removed electronically.

The Treasury tried to help, opened their window and pumped in $150 Billion but quickly realized they could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. So they decided to closed down the accounts.

Had they not closed down the accounts they estimated that by 2 PM that afternoon. Within 3 hours. $5.5 Trillion would have been withdrawn and the entire economy of the United States would have collapsed, and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed.

Some other gems from the recording:

It would have been the end of our economic and political system.

We would have had to spend 3 to 4 Trillion dollars to buy up all the toxic assets. But we didn’t have that much we only had 700 Billion.

Without a banking system you don’t have an economy.

We are no better off now than we were three months ago.

Someone threw us in the middle of the Atlantic ocean without a life raft. We are trying to determine which is the closest shore and whether there is any chance in the world to swim that far. We don’t know.

Now, I’m not a stock market wiz, but isn’t that a crazy amount of money to be removed in just the matter of a few hours?  I understand that the banks were already in trouble, but  it seems reasonable to suspect malicious manipulation.  At the time, Mike Huckabee wondered if it was “economic terrorism”:

If you remember, John McCain’s Presidential prospects essentially ended with this financial crisis: Scott Rassmussen reported:

The week of September 8-14 McCain was ahead for the first time – but by only one point. Obama reclaimed a one-point lead the following week. Basically the race was tied going into the last six weeks of the campaign.

Then on September 15, the 158-year-old investment banking firm of Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy protection, marking the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history. The bursting housing bubble had hit Wall Street. Other firms fell like dominoes, and the resulting “financial meltdown” dominated the front pages. The Bush Administration stepped in with a proposal for unprecedented federal government involvement in the private sector and hammered out an agreement with the Democratic-led Congress. There was plenty of blame to go around, but for voters it was the final nail in the coffin of the Bush years and Republican governance.

Also via Atlas, The American Thinker reported in January:

The FDIC has just announced that a consortium of private equity and hedge fund firms would be buying IndyMac. IndyMac was an independent “bridge bank” spun off of Countrywide Mortgage in the late 90s.  IndyMac acted as a “bridge bank” to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

New York Democrat Charles Shumer precipitated the fall of IndyMac in May of 2008 by releasing “inside” information that the mortgage company was in dire financial straits. This disclosure created the initial “bank run” that is credited by many economists as the initial trigger that prompted the current mortgage crisis. The FDIC took over the operations of IndyMac in late summer of 2008.So much for history. George Soros is in on the deal to buy IndyMac from the FDIC. Soros has a long history of making loads of money by first creating a financial crisis and then stepping in to grab up the bargains. Perhaps the most famous example of this tactic is “Black Wednesday,” when Soros nearly sunk the entire economy of Great Britain through currency speculation.

Anyone know how to connect these dots?

UPDATE:

I missed Rush talking about this today, and yesterday, but he has the CSPAN video up on his website, and he’s asking the same question: Who tried to crash the world economy — and why?

Now, we’ve gotta allow here for some exaggeration.  It’s amazing this was said on C-SPAN on Thursday, January 27th, and nobody picked up on it.  We got it from a website called LiveLeak.  They were rummaging through things, and they found this.  Now, let’s assume for a second here that elements of this are true.  Let’s assume that there was a $550 billion run, electronic run on the banks and money market accounts in one to two hours.  The question is who was doing this?  Who was withdrawing all this money?  And the next question is why?  That’s where my mind starts exploding, and this is dangerous to have these explosions going this way.  Could it have been George Soros?  Could it have been a consortium of countries — Russia, China, Venezuela — countries that are eager to have Barack Obama elected because they know that will make it easier for them to continue their own foreign policies in the world?  In the meantime, five-and-a-half billion dollars in one to two hours, that can probably be confirmed.  The five-and-a-half trillion is speculation based on the rate at which money was coming out.  We could check that the Fed stopped the trading windows, they closed the window. We do know they were pumping money into the system left and right.  And remember when the Federal Reserve loaned elements, $2 trillion and we weren’t told who got the money?  And we still haven’t been told who got the money.

This should be a much bigger story.

Latest Polling Shows Increasing Public Opposition To Porkulus

ATI-News/Zogby has a new poll out, and not surprisingly, public approval for the Generational Theft Act masquerading as an “economic recovery plan” is tanking:

90 Percent of Republicans and 60 Percent of Independents Oppose Obama Economic Recovery Plan

Question #3:

ATI-News/Zogby asked voters, “Most Republicans oppose the currently proposed stimulus bill supported by President Obama because they say there is too much money being spent for non-stimulus items. Do you agree or disagree that too much money is being spent on items that won’t improve the economy?”

Sixty-six percent of Independent voters think Obama wants to spend too much money on items that won’t improve the economy. As for Republicans, a staggering 93 percent agree.

Gee, what do you know? A lot of Americans seem to disapprove of  massive funding for non stimulative items….or pork.

But but but…How can that be? Chucky Schumer said we don’t care about pork!

Seriously, these are devastating numbers. That’s why the Dems want to rush this through so quickly.

But I’m guessing they figure that this will all blow over. The idea is to get their programs installed, expand the reach of  government, and make people more dependent on the Government for jobs, and programs, so they will continue to vote for Dems. ACORN will make sure they all get registered (and registered, and registered).

This bill should really be called the Democrat Empowerment Bill. It won’t matter how much they harm the economy, it won’t matter that we’re diving headfirst into a  murky pool of  socialized health-care, expanded welfare, and government funded massive vote fraud.  As long as enough Americans (and illegals) are on the public dole, and working for the government, they won’t vote against self interest.

So really, what you and I think now, is just a minor annoyance to these people.

Woohoo. Elections have consequences, yes-siree-Bob!

Hat tip: Gateway Pundit

UPDATE:

Rassmussen Reports:

75% say the federal government should not take over the U.S. banking system.

Only nine percent (9%) think nationalization of America’s banks is a good idea, and 16% are undecided in a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

Also:

Two-thirds of the nation’s voters (69%) lack confidence that Congress knows what it is doing when it comes to addressing the country’s current economic problems. Just 29% are even somewhat confident in the legislators.
