Tea Party Snowmen Protest High Taxes In Michigan

And, boy… do they look mad!

Michigan is yet again facing almost a $2 billion budget deficit and Granholm has once again trotted out tax increases to fill the gap: The Granholm Delusion: Gov rolls out FY2011 budget – 4% bigger, higher taxes.

White House Blog Asks “Will The Republicans Post Their Health Care Plan”?

The “most transparent administration in history” thinks they have something to crow about. Yes, I know Obama’s health care proposal landed with a thud, yesterday, yes, I know the CBO can’t even score it because of lack of details, yes I know Obama’s approval rating is as low as eveh.

The White House blog is  taunting the Republicans to reveal their plan:

… you don’t have to take our word for it: the proposal is posted right here at WhiteHouse.gov for everyone to examine. You can read through the plan’s bipartisan ideas section by section, or you can select your health care status and find out what the proposal would mean for you. You can even submit a question for our policy staff to answer.

What you can’t do just yet is read about the Republicans’ consensus plan – because so far they haven’t announced what proposal they’ll be bringing to the table. To be sure, there are many Republicans who share the President’s conviction that we need to act on reform, and there are several pieces of Republican health care legislation out there. Previously we were told this was the House Republican bill. Is it still? We look forward to hearing whether this the proposal they’ll bring. The Senate Republicans have yet to post any kind of plan, so we continue to await word from them. As of right now, the American people still don’t know which one Congressional Republicans support and which one they want to present to the public on Thursday.

Let me be of help.

The House Republicans have had a health care plan (HR3962) for months, (you can view it, here). It was scored by CBO last November. For some reason, the Democrats refuse to consider it as a viable option.

Allahpundit doubts that the House will have the votes.

Former Bush economist, Keith Hennessey suspects that we may be witnessing a “blame shifting exit strategy”:

It is possible that we are witnessing uncoordinated Democratic leaders each pursuing their own exit strategy in anticipation of legislative failure:

* The President proposes a “compromise” and blames Republicans for being unreasonable and unconstructive. Legislative failure is the Republicans’ fault, not the President’s.

* Speaker Pelosi continues to press for a two bill strategy in which the House and Senate will pass a new reconciliation bill. If the Senate cannot or will not do so, legislative failure is the Senate’s fault, not the House’s or Speaker Pelosi’s.

* Supported by outside liberals, Leader Reid points out that the House could just take up and pass the Senate-passed bill. Legislative failure is therefore not his fault or the Senate’s.
