ACORN To Aid Obama Administration With 2010 Census

Hey, what could go wrong, right?

ACORN, the largest, radical organization in America,  will be assisting Obama and Democrats with the 2010 US census, the control of which, in what many are calling a purely political maneuver, has  been recently moved  from the Commerce Dept. to the White House.

Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit reminds us of Obama’s history of working  with ACORN –  a history he tried to downplay during the election season:

One of Barack Obama’s first big “community organizer” jobs involved ACORN in 1992. Obama also trained ACORN employees. He represented ACORN in court. Obama worked with and protested with ACORN. His campaign donated $800,000 to ACORN this year for voter registration efforts.
And, ACORN even canvassed for Obama this year.

Obama also famously promised ACORN in Dec. 07, that he would let them help him shape his Presidential agenda. Part of their agenda this year, has been to engage in  a campaign of “civil disobediance” by breaking into foreclosed homes all across the country to reclaim them for the former owners. At least one arrest has been made in connection to these efforts, thus far.

Michelle Malkin called this the Laugh line of the day:

“The Census (Bureau) is a nonpartisan, non-political agency and we’re very dedicated to an accurate account,” bureau spokesman Stephen Buckner told FOXNews.com. “We have a lot of quality controls in place to keep any kind of systemic error or fraudulent behavior to affect the counts.”

FOX News reports:

The U.S. Census is supposed to be free of politics, but one group with a history of voter fraud, ACORN, is participating in next year’s count, raising concerns about the politicization of the decennial survey.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now signed on as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau in February 2009 to assist with the recruitment of the 1.4 million temporary workers needed to go door-to-door to count every person in the United States — currently believed to be more than 306 million people.

A U.S. Census “sell sheet,” an advertisement used to recruit national partners, says partnerships with groups like ACORN “play an important role in making the 2010 Census successful,” including by “help[ing] recruit census workers.”

Well, this should come as no surprise. Obama has such a special special connection with this community organizer group, he’s willing to overlook their less than fastidious methods of data collection:

So now this group is going to be trusted to help with the recruitment of people who will be going door to door to count every person in America. Are they still “thinking about” doing those background checks on future employees, I wonder?

UPDATE:

Here’s Megyn Kelly talking to a Republican Congressman from Utah about the controversy:

MORE:

Maybe this abomination can be stopped if we make enough noise…The Washington Times reports today:

A lawyer for a whistleblower on the activist group ACORN is prepared to tell a House panel Thursday that the group provided liberal causes with protest-for-hire services and coerced donations from the targets of demonstrations through a mob-style “protection” racket.

ACORN called it the “muscle for the money” program, according to prepared testimony Pittsburgh lawyer Heather Heidelbaugh plans to deliver at a hearing of the House Judiciary subcommittee on the Constitution, civil rights and civil liberties.

A copy of her prepared testimony was obtained by The Washington Times.

The protest shakedowns are among a slew of accusations that Ms. Heidelbaugh intends to make against the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. She also will accuse the nonprofit group of violating tax, campaign-finance and other laws by sharing a list of President Obama’s maxed-out campaign donors to solicit more funds for a get-out-the-vote drive.

Read the whole thing. ACORN is about to get a whole lot of unwelcome attention.

  2. I can’t believe what I just saw. I watched Megan Kelly in a yell fest with some guy from Acorn. Are you kidding me? Do these people really believe in anything or are they just sorry they got caught? How can you have a discussion with someone, when they talk over you constantly and have nothing but sarcasm and snide remarks over and over? That guy was a complete idiot, and is is still a spokesman for an organization that has been linked with voter fraud over and over and over, and all across the US. Then he says it is all lies that FOX news is making up and not proof is available. Is he delusional, or what? Do they believe in anything, really? He has no argument that all his words are ignorant and baseless. The only answer I can come up with, is if in fact, they are part of the Obama crew that are being put in place to transition the US into a socialist country or worse. They are the smartest people around, and “regular Americans” NEED them to tell us what to eat, what to wear, when to sleep ect ect. Give me a break. If this A-hole is smarter than “regular Americans” we should just fold up our tents and go home now. The Libs are so hostile towards anyone or anything differing from their opinions. Whew….It wore me out to watch the back and forth, so I just needed to vent Thanks….. 🙂

  4. Really is all in the eye of the beholder isn’t it? Unlike Mark I saw a seriously unprofessional journalist (I hesitate to give her that!), shouting over and bullying an invited guest. Fox is renowned for it. Just give up the BS, kids – you’re wrong!
