The DNC Reveals “Major Announcement”

DNC chief, Tim Kaine teased America yesterday, with hints of an announcement that would “excite Democrats across the country”. Well, considering the DNC’s track record, I have been  on pins and needles wondering what this momentous announcement could be.

Well the exciting moment has arrived. Are you ready? Are you sitting down?

It appears that the Democrat party has – uh….….given itself a new logo!!!:

The old block “DNC” letters, once filled with an U.S. flag pattern, have been replaced with a simple capital letter “D” inside a blue circle. And the new tagline, “Change That Matters,” is torn right from Obama’s successful 2008 playbook. The new site hops on the minimalist bandwagon, stripping all but the most basic of navigation elements away to lay them on a stark white background.

That makes all kinds of sense. Dems are hitching their wagons to Obama’s “change” brand that has been going over so well with the American people. Rather than actually changing course, and reining in their spending, they have created a new logo with the word, “change” in it.

Brilliant. I would have expected nothing less from the Dems, (who in all honesty, already have a perfectly apt logo):

UPDATE:

For more snark about the new logo, see Mary Katharine Ham.

UPDATE II:

Commenter, NMJune gave me this photoshop idea:

It lends itself so nicely to interpretation as “D for Dumb”. Actually it looks like a good logo for a diaper brand and the tag line “Change That Matters” would actually be meaningful.

  2. All we can do is stand in awe of such magnificence. It reminds me of the million $$ or so that NBC (or maybe ABC) paid some years back to get a new logo – which was only slightly more complicated than “the Big D”.

PS: Mary spells her middle name wrong, and your link isn’t quite right. This is probably what you meant:

Hold Your Predictions, Pundits: Democrats Have a New Logo!

The “D” looks very much like one of those “what-kind-of-a-thing-is-this” logos that you find on detergent boxes.

Kaine said, “… November will be full of changes Democrats delivered …”

Yup – more Republicans in Congress.
