Who’s Ready For an October Surprise?

I’m not going to link to the countdown website because as many have already noted – it has a definite hactivist feel to it.

William Jacobson reported on this story, earlier today:

The tweets for the website (private to protect their sources) say the campaign knows about it and is scared. “It has the potential to change the election into a landslide.” This will come out right before the last debate on Monday and I would guess if it is truly something, it will shake the guilty one to the core (fingers crossed it is Obama).

I can’t see anti-Obama voters suddenly voting for him en masse after we have documented his illegal moves for the last 4 yrs (they would stay home if anything) but I could see some Obama voters seeing the light. Some, alas, will NEVER see the light even if he killed Hillary on the White House lawn in broad daylight by chewing off her head high on bath salts, as long as they get their freebies.

The link is to An October Surprise, which promises a game changing document release on October 22,  just before the final debate:

One of your presidential candidates isn’t being honest with you. Stay tuned to find out which one it is.

Most people who have examined the blurred and redacted documents at Buzzfeed seem to think they look like tax forms – if so –  we’re looking  at Obama’s political henchmen playing a very dirty trick weeks before an election in the same manner Obama/Axelrod did to his political opponents in Chicago.

Remember:  Obama’s signature move: unsealing private records.

Mitt Romney presents one enormous problem for Barack Obama’s campaign: No divorce records. That’s why the media are so hot to get their hands on Romney’s tax records for the past 25 years. They need something to “pick through, distort and lie about” — as the Republican candidate says.

Obama’s usual campaign method, used in 100 percent of his races, has been to pry into the private records of his opponents.

Democrats aren’t going to find any personal dirt on the clean-cut Mormon, so they need complicated tax filings going back decades in order to create the illusion of scandal out of boring financial records.

LI commenter Austin G. Hart did some sleuthing and managed to find an Occupy link.

Interesting. The teaser image that they posted in their twitter feed (http://t.co/cxtql58Y) looks different than the document they link to at Buzzfeed (http://www.buzzfeed.com/wiowsa/one-of-your-presidential-candidates-isnt-being-ho-4afz).

All the WHOIS info on the octsurprise website is private because they appear to have used a third party to register the domain (http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/octsurprise.com), but I wanted to follow what trail there was, if any, with the Buzzfeed poster.

The buzzfeed image appears to have been posted by a person with the handle WIOPSA which appears to stand for “What Is Occupy Wall Street About” (http://www.buzzfeed.com/wiowsa). Their profile links to whatisoccupywallstreetabout.com. WHOIS info doesn’t reveal the name of the individual that registered the (now expired) domain, but it does have an email address (http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/whatisoccupywallstreetabout.com). This same email address is associated with another domain name registration (http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/scatterfamily.com) that does list the account owner who appears to live in the Chicago area. A Google search did turn up a result for a person by that name who worked in that area (http://media.illinois.edu/images/_docs/alumni/alumninews_W08.pdf) who is or was an IT creative director for a TV channel, but I don’t know that they’re the same person. You can do a Google search yourself to see what other results come up – there were plenty of others.

Now, Just because the twitter account linked to the Buzzfeed image doesn’t mean the two are associated. And just because the person that posted the image at buzzfeed linked to the occupy website doesn’t mean they are related either. So the connections are tenuous and may not mean anything, but that’s all there was to go on.

Another LI commenter, Jack Sunday,  wrote:

This document => https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A5Ry869CAAEbHEn.jpg:large definitely has the Commonwealth of Massachusetts shield in the left hand corner. The second document in this array http://s3-ak.buzzfed.com/static/imagebuzz/web03/2012/10/17/16/6-docs-25763-1350504119-8.jpg, where everything is redacted, most likely has the Massachusetts Department of Revenue medallion in the upper left corner. See this example here => http://www.mass.gov/dor/docs/dor/forms/corp10/355/sch-cg.pdf

These are Commonwealth of Massachusetts documents, I’m afraid.

On the other hand, Mitt Romney has been poked, prodded and vetted to the nth degree. I see pyrite ahead.

This has the rancid smell of David Axelrod’s Chicago operation all over it.

Ann Coulter said it best just a few months ago: “It’s almost like a serial killer’s signature. Unsealed personal records have been released to the press. Obama must be running for office!”

One month before the 2004 Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate, Obama was down in the polls, about to lose to Blair Hull, a multimillionaire securities trader. But then the Chicago Tribune leaked the claim that Hull’s second ex-wife, Brenda Sexton, had sought an order of protection against him during their 1998 divorce proceedings.

Those records were under seal, but as The New York Times noted: “The Tribune reporter who wrote the original piece later acknowledged in print that the Obama camp had ‘worked aggressively behind the scenes’ to push the story.” Many people said Axelrod had “an even more significant role — that he leaked the initial story.”

Both Hull and his ex-wife opposed releasing their sealed divorce records, but they finally relented in response to the media’s hysteria — 18 days before the primary. Hull was forced to spend four minutes of a debate detailing the abuse allegation in his divorce papers, explaining that his ex-wife “kicked me in the leg and I hit her shin to try to get her to not continue to kick me.”

After having held a substantial lead just a month before the primary, Hull’s campaign collapsed with the chatter about his divorce. Obama sailed to the front of the pack and won the primary. Hull finished third with 10 percent of the vote.

As luck would have it, Obama’s opponent in the general election had also been divorced! Jack Ryan was tall, handsome, Catholic — and shared a name with one of Harrison Ford’s most popular onscreen characters! He went to Dartmouth, Harvard Law and Harvard Business School, made hundreds of millions of dollars as a partner at Goldman Sachs, and then, in his early 40s, left investment banking to teach at an inner city school on the South Side of Chicago.

Ryan would have walloped Obama in the Senate race. But at the request of — again — the Chicago Tribune, California Judge Robert Schnider unsealed the custody papers in Ryan’s divorce five years earlier from Hollywood starlet Jeri Lynn Ryan, the bombshell Borg on “Star Trek: Voyager.”

Jack Ryan had released his tax records. He had released his divorce records. But both he and his ex-wife sought to keep the custody records under seal to protect their son.

Amid the 400 pages of filings from the custody case, Jack Ryan claimed that his wife had had an affair, and she counterclaimed with the allegation that he had taken her to “sex clubs” in Paris, New York and New Orleans, which drove her to fall in love with another man.

***

And that’s how Obama became a U.S. senator. He destroyed both his Democratic primary opponent and his Republican general election opponent with salacious allegations about their personal lives taken from “sealed” court records.

Obama’s team delved into Sarah Palin’s marriage and spread rumors of John McCain’s alleged affair in 2008 and they smeared Herman Cain in 2011 with hazy sexual harassment allegations all emanating from David Axelrod’s pals in Chicago.

They weren’t able to “shame” Romney into releasing all of his tax records after harping about it all year because as Romney said himself, last July –   it would provide “hundreds of pages” for opponents to “distort” and turn into attacks against his candidacy.

So now we’re at defcon 3:  Romney is on track to “wallop” Obama in the 2012 Presidential race. Time to unseal some personal records.

Another dopier “October Surprise” comes to us via Ace: Just A Heads Up: The Leftist Outrage Factory Is Gearing Up:

I’m not going to link the lefty gals who are pushing this, but there’s audio of Tagg Romney saying he wanted to take a swing at Obama for calling his dad a liar.

Oh, whatever. I respect him more for saying that than the disingenuous – “We think Obama is a nice guy, but in over his head” garbage. Truth is – he wants to smack him in the face. After all the things they’ve said about his dad, (dog abuser, tax cheat, felon, murderer, etc) I don’t blame him.

  1. This should scare the heck out of everyone.

Obama is within striking distance. The Democrats control the media. Based on goings-on at the debate (lots of Obama campaign plants, apparently), we now know the extent the conspiracy.

Obama could still steal this, the way he has stolen almost every election he was about to lose. The Dark Side of the Force (not trying to be funny here) is strong with this one.

  2. Not going to lie here, this thing feels like a rabbit hole for an alternate reality/advertising game. If there is a pool, I am going to take a flier bet and say this is actually going to be an advertisement for some company and not have anything to do with the election at all. It seems flawed from the start: “One of your presidential candidates isn’t being honest with you”. “One of your”. “One”. Implying that a politician can be honest. Seems fishy to me.

  3. The last debate was a farce, but Romney still managed to win on almost all the issues – even with Candy and Eye Candy tag-teaming him.
I think most Americans are sick to death of the jerk and just want him gone.
Whatever happens on Monday, we in the alternative media have our game faces on. America is not going to be fooled again by SCOAMF.

  4. Just a thought, if Romney is certain this potential October Surprise is about his tax records – maybe even other financial records – he should get his lawyers and accountants together and prepared to do one of two things:

    (1) a court order to release them or quash them (if they would truly work – I doubt it); or

    (2) put a package together that would be a competing narrative about his taxes records and financial history, and do a Friday night document dump.

I highly doubt the legal route would work in scenario 1 in either case. Scenario 2 is the better option. There are probably other scenarios that I can’t come up with.

Maybe Romney and his advisers already have a “prepackaged” document release strategy for his taxes and such in case this was going to happen. If advisers and staff are worth their salt, they would have researched what Obama and Co. are capable. A Friday night document dump spoils the timeline and narrative Axelrod and Obama want in the final stretch of the campaign if this was their “ace in the hole”.

The debate next week is about foreign policy, but in an instance of news of this magnitude, they would let both Romney and Obama address this. Then spend the rest of the night hammering Obama’s foreign policy disasters.

Then you look at Partislator’s posts at Dailykos, most recent one is about Octobersurprise! http://www.dailykos.com/user/partislator/comments

I found his facebook page cached as well. It refers to Deftones which is the name he used to register the WIOWSA site, as well as the information you posted.

  7. I think Nick may be onto something, it’s probably completely unrelated, like that angel skeleton Lisa found on The Simpsons which turned out to be a promotion gimmick for the new mall. Also, like Deb said, our own side vetted the hell out of Mitt and the Obamazombie attacks have been relentless, I find it hard to believe that anyone can “dox” the guy at this point in time, and even if they tried, remember how the dox on GW Bush’s DWI from 20 years earlier released days before the election went over? Like a lead balloon.
It might be fun to see Obama get a taste of his own medicine though; maybe the MSM will suddenly notice that he’s got a lot of shady radical terrorist connections and a well known reputation in the back rooms of Chicago’s gay bars and bathhouses. Maybe someone has pictures…

  8. I agree this is their signature move. Things magically appear just days before he is about to get his @zz kicked in. I’m not going to say it isn’t going to happen [given their track record] but, considering all the other issues involved here [National security, economy, Libya, unemployment. . . etc] it would be seen exactly what it was . . . . a sign of desperation and under the belt move and would really incite the opposition. I can’t believe that the Romney campaign hasn’t planned for something like this and has plans for it. AxelRoid and the minions can only go after Mitt on the financial issue and cause some suspicion.

    Having said that . . . . . .
Anything short of a video of Anne doing a “pole dance” or proof that “Shamus” was a illegitimate kid before he ended up in the cage. I don’t think it’s going to work, yet I wouldn’t put it past them.

  9. LOL!!! You people need to cut back on the magic mushrooms. A document, how was it put? A COMPLICATED tax document from decades ago trumps 4 dead Americans in Libya, 4 trillion in deficits, fast and furious and the highest unemployment rate since Moses strolled around the desert? You people bought any gas for your car lately?

Concentrate on reality. Idle speculation regarding what the occupy crowd thinks about tax returns is counterproductive.

  14. So after all that hype, it turned out to be a Rickroll…on the other hand, it did help me decide who to vote for for president. Ladies and Gentlemen of Nicedeb, I come before you today to speak on behalf of the Rick Astley 2012 campaign. The fact of the matter is, Romney and Obama will joke about their pensions while many of us suffer without one. On the other hand, Rick Astley will never give you up, never let you down, and never run around and desert you. Join me in my support of Astley 2012.
