Monday Morning Ketch-Up: Sandra Fluke’s Rallies vs the Stand Up For Religious Freedom Rallies

Sandra Fluke, the Patron Saint of free Birth Control Pills “took center stage” at a pro-Obama rally in at a Sak ‘N Save parking lot in Reno, Saturday:

10 people showed up to see her.

Sandra Fluke, the woman at the center of a media firestorm earlier this year after Rush Limbaugh called her a “slut,” spoke Saturday in front of about 10 people at the Sak ‘N Save in north Reno. The speech was part of a daylong effort by Democrats to get Northern Nevadans to the polls on the first day of early voting.

“About” 10 people. It may have been even less. Granted, it can be hard estimating crowd sizes – still,  how hard can it be when you’re dealing with such a low number? Did the reporter get sick of counting after like –  5?  “I’m just gonna go with “about 10″ – all this counting is wearing me out.”

Twitchy: Fluke, OFA fail in pics: If you hold a rally and no one shows up, does it make a sound?

In case you missed it, there were much larger crowds at the Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rallies that were held all across America over the weekend – maybe because these rallies are based on real threats to our liberties and not cynical made up  threats.

Huge Crowd at Chicago Stand Up Rally:

In the shadow of the building that formerly housed the transition team offices of President Barack Obama, enthusiastic crowds packed downtown Chicago’s Federal Plaza and received signs reading “Stand Up for Religious Freedom”, “Stop Obama’s HHS Mandate”, and “Vote for Life and Liberty” along with handheld American flags.

Shortly after noon, the assembled crowd of 1,700 made their way to Dearborn Street and marched four blocks north to Daley Plaza. At the front of the march were dozens of teens and young adults from the Crusaders for Life pro-life club based out of Chicago’s St. John Cantius Parish, who held aloft several 15-foot high yellow balloon trees and led the crowd in a series of exuberant cheers.

My coverage of the Kansas City Stand Up rally with lots of pictures and videos, here.

Speakers at the rally, one of many held around the country, urged those in attendance to vote against Obama to get rid of ObamaCare.

My husband and I attended the rally in Kansas City, KS , on this beautiful crisp, Saturday afternoon and were pleased to see that KC conservative writer/editor Jack Cashill was the Master of Ceremonies.

Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin: Report: Workers at recipient of $150 million DOE grant spend hours playing cards and watching movies:

Not even two weeks ago we discussed LG Chem, a lithium-ion battery plant in Holland, Michigan that was built with the help of a $150 million grand from the federal government. The plant began furloughing workers one week a month without pay because, well, demand isn’t there (who knew?). Now it’s being reported that, though the workers might be doing little during their furlough time, they’re probably doing even less on taxpayer-backed company time.

Finally, a MSM news outlet has discovered the Obama’s campaign finance fraud.

The NY Post: Obama campaign accepted foreign Web donation — and may be hiding more:

The Obama re-election campaign has accepted at least one foreign donation in violation of the law — and does nothing to check on the provenance of millions of dollars in other contributions, a watchdog group alleges.

Chris Walker, a British citizen who lives outside London, told The Post he was able to make two $5 donations to President Obama’s campaign this month through its Web site while a similar attempt to give Mitt Romney cash was rejected. It is illegal to knowingly solicit or accept money from foreign citizens.

Walker said he used his actual street address in England but entered Arkansas as his state with the Schenectady, NY, ZIP code of 12345.

“When I did Romney’s, the payment got rejected on the grounds that the address on the card did not match the address that I entered,” he said. “Romney’s Web site wanted the code from the back of card. Barack Obama’s didn’t.”

Big Government reports that Obama Bagged Over $2 Million In Invalid Donations For September:

In September, the Obama campaign collected $2,199,204.38 in donations with non-existent or invalid ZIP codes. The Romney campaign’s September total: just $29,620.

The revelation comes from a Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report to be issued tomorrow that combed the Federal Election Commission (FEC) data to determine the effectiveness of each campaign’s donation security system.

“The use of a robust Address Verification System (AVS) would significantly minimize donations with invalid zip codes from slipping through the net,” said GAI President Peter Schweizer.  “When you use your credit card at a pay-at-the-pump gas station, you have to enter your zip code. Enter the wrong number or none at all, your transaction is denied. If that’s the standard to buy gas, surely it’s reasonable to expect the same for donating to federal candidates.”

Shame on the New York Times and The Washington Post for not making this a front page story.

Big Government: Obama Asks Jeremiah Wright For Election Help:

President Obama is getting so desperate about Romney-trending election polls that he is calling on an old, discarded ally to help his get out the vote effort: Rev. Jeremiah Wright. According to former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, “If Obama looks as if he’s going black, he could turn off white people. So he’s largely been lying low on the race issues – visibly pushing for the Latino vote, the gay vote, the women’s vote, but not the black vote. But last weekend, he held a conference call with a collection of black preachers that included his old pastor, Jeremiah Wright. He wanted to talk to them about getting out the vote.”

Just the excuse I needed to repost this excellent  Ben Howe video:

Big Journalism: Bob Schieffer’s 2008 Pro-Obama Debate Record:

Bob Schieffer, the moderator for the last of the three presidential debates in 2012, needs to be watched carefully; he has a clear partisan agenda that favors Barack Obama that was evident even in 2008. When he moderated the last presidential debate that year, he didn’t flinch from his Democratic Party mission.

In 2008, Schieffer asked 9 questions. Look at how he slanted some of the questions and his interjections: (Keep reading at link.)

Obviously, we can’t expect him to be any fairer this time around. Mitt will need to be on his game.

Michelle Malkin: The bias of Bob Schieffer: Top 7 moments:

Schieffer has steadfastly refused to acknowledge his biases over the years. But his words below speak for themselves. Can he contain himself tonight? Like Crowley, he’s signaled to the media that he will “interject” himself to stop candidate “filibuster[ing]” when necessary. He has already taken the liberty of redefining what the foreign policy debate is about for voters, arguing to the left-wing Daily Beast: “While the third encounter is devoted to foreign policy, ‘what these debates are about are really about character.’” And liberal L.A. Times columnist James Rainey happily predicted that Schieffer will “throw some curves” tonight. Which way will he lean? You be the judge:

1. Schieffer penned a book in 1989 titled “The Acting President: Ronald Reagan and the Supporting Players Who Helped Him Create the Illusion That Held America Spellbound.” Nope, no bias there! Newsbusters reported that 23 years after it was published, Schieffer finally acknowledged that it was “not entirely true.”

CFIF: Pew Research: Republicans More Knowledgeable Than Democrats:

Republicans are more knowledgeable than Democrats, contrary to what many would like to believe.

According to whom?  None other than the Pew Research Center, a left-of-center organization.  Moreover, Pew’s latest survey only reaffirms previous surveys demonstrating the same result.

In fact, the results weren’t even close.

In a scientific survey of 1,168 adults conducted during September and October of last year, respondents were asked not only multiple-choice questions, but also queries using maps, photographs and symbols.  Among other subjects, participants identified international leaders, cabinet members, Supreme Court justices, nations on a world map, the current unemployment and poverty rates and war casualty totals.

In a 2010 Pew survey, Republicans outperformed Democrats on 10 of 12 questions, with one tie and Democrats outperforming Republicans on just 1 of the 12.  In the latest survey, however, Republicans outperformed Democrats on every single one of 19 questions.

What’s sad, is, Democrats work hard to keep their constituents in the dark. They ply them with government hand outs and have strange ideas about how a functioning capitalist society is supposed to work. If a CEO has a position in which the party disagrees, the party faithful are encouraged to punish his business. When the government tells businesses what coverage their insurance plans must provide –  even when said coverage violate their religious beliefs, Democrats twist their objections  into a Republican “war on women”. It’s not too difficult to dismantle their deceit when the facts are presented, that’s why the herd must be kept in the dark…  Democrats understand that an uniformed populous is one that benefits them.

Keith Koffler in The Politico: President Obama’s contempt for voters:

Obama’s plan for the near-term deficit, other than – somewhat counter-intuitively – increasing spending, is to smack the rich around with a tax increase.

Raising the taxes of families making more than $250,000 a year will not go very far toward eliminating the deficit.

Instead, the proposal is a symptom of Obama’s ideology, which wants to punish success and redistribute it.

But it is also an appeal to the basest emotions of voters, an effort to breed resentment against the wealthy and translate it into support for Obama, who fashions himself the champion of the middle class.

It’s an appeal to anger, built on the hope that you won’t be able to discern populist demagoguery and left-wing dogma from a serious attempt to tackle the deficit.

Driving parallel to Obama’s empty agenda but traveling on an even lower road is his extraordinarily personal attempt to brand Romney a liar and a shameless tool of the wealthy.

Obama was again testing your intelligence during the second debate, when he tried to peddle some snake oil about Romney aching to devote his presidency to making the rich richer.

“Governor Romney doesn’t have a five-point plan. He has a one-point plan,” Obama said. “And that plan is to make sure that folks at the top play by a different set of rules. That’s been his philosophy in the private sector, that’s been his philosophy as governor, that’s been his philosophy as a presidential candidate.”

It’s almost sad to see a thinker of Obama’s caliber lofting such simplistic left-wing rhetoric out of the mud, bellowing, in effect, “He only cares about rich people!”

It would be sad except Obama knows better, and he hopes you won’t.

He knows his dumb constituents don’t.

Doug Ross: WE WANT THE TRUTH: The Three Benghazi Timelines for Which the American People Demand Answers:

James Rosen, writing at The Wall Street Journal, succinctly analyzes the three timelines related to Benghazi that smack of a Watergate-style cover-up.

The Benghazi episode is best viewed as a series of three timelines. When fully exposed, the facts of the “pre” period before the attacks will tell us how high up the chain, and in which agencies, fateful decisions were made about security precautions for the consulate and annex in Benghazi. We also stand to learn how the planning for the attacks could have been put in motion without being detected until too late.

Maggie’s Notebook: Drones Recorded Benghazi Attack: Officials Did Nothing:

Beginning with Sean Hannity a couple of days ago, with no specifics, and then all day yesterday we heard that there is video of the entire attack on the Benghazi U.S. Consulate. Today we know that video comes from a drone – unmanned yes, but not uncontrolled. We kept a drone over the attack the entire time and did nothing. The attack went on for hours, and still we did not send in our Unit from Signonella, Italy – only 30 to 45 minutes away by air.  General Martin Dempsey, Obama and Hillary Clinton convened and decided using those troops from Italy would violate Libya’s sovereignty. Seton Motley, The Daily Caller: No Debate: The Radical, Corrupt Incompetence of Obama and his Democrats:

Tonight’s third Presidential debate is focused on foreign policy. What incumbent Barack Obama and his Democrats have demonstrated is that regardless of where they operate – on policies foreign or domestic – they are too often radical, corrupt and incompetent.

The best international example of this is the disaster in Benghazi, Libya. President Obama’s incompetent-or-radical support of the obviously Islamist-led “Arab Spring.” His incompetence in ignoring the incessant, increasingly desperate requests for additional security from now-late Ambassador Chris Stevens and others on the ground. And the utter corruption of the Administration and their Congressional Democrat cohorts to weave any tale and go to any length to cover up and obfuscate the truth.

Roger L. Simon, PJ Media: Should Barack Obama Resign Tonight?

I won’t hear what I’d like to hear at the presidential foreign policy debate Monday.

What I’d like to hear is Barack Obama resigning over Benghazi, the most extreme public mishandling of an attack on American personnel ever, certainly in my lifetime. If I (or most people) had been president and something like that happened on my (our) watch — and then I had lied about it myself while urging others to cover up — I would be so ashamed of myself I wouldn’t be able to come out in public.

But that’s not what happened. In fact, the reverse occurred. The president acted as if it was Mitt Romney’s fault for ever bringing the subject up. And he had a willing co-conspirator in the morally stunted Candy Crowley.

Obama’s outrage during the second debate even at being questioned on his response to the terrorist killings is one of the ugliest displays of narcissism I have ever witnessed from a politician and certainly the ugliest if you consider the ramifications of his behavior.

Breitbart TV: Sunday Shows Agree: No Plan From Obama For Next Four Years:

Obama surrogates were hammed on all the Sunday shows this morning about the President’s plan for the next four years. Surrogates and panels were consistently tossed questions about the President’s lack of plan and Obama’s campaign strategy of “blame the other guy”.

RS McCain, The American Spectator: ‘Preference Cascade’:

Public-opinion polls are lagging indicators in politics. By the time a shift in the trend becomes clear from poll data, the causes of the shift are days or weeks in the past. It is therefore unwise to extrapolate the current trend forward or to begin thinking of polls as supernatural prophecies that predict future events.

With all those caveats in mind, however, Mitt Romney enters the final two weeks of the presidential campaign looking very much like the next president of the United States, and it is not merely poll data that creates this impression. President Obama’s own campaign has begun to emit clear signals that the incumbent’s re-election prospects are dwindling, and anecdotal evidence of strong Republican momentum is not hard to find these days. We cannot predict what will happen in tonight’s third and final presidential debate (9 p.m. ET at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida), but it is a fairly safe guess it won’t have the game-changing impact of the first debate on Oct. 3, one of two apparent pivot points that triggered Obama’s downward slide. While the impact of Romney’s one-sided victory over a listless Obama in Denver has been universally acknowledged, it would be wrong to overlook the political effect of the other pivot point, the Sept. 11 terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.

DaTechGuy: Demoralized as Hell: Editorial Reversal Edition:

There aren’t many people who believe Mitt Romney has a prayer of winning in Massachusetts, however that might depend on how many people read this absolutely devastating endorsement of Mitt by the Sentinel & Enterprise

Romney has faced economic challenges at key points in his professional and political careers and has always seemed to grow in the job to deliver greater expectations than when he went in. President Obama, on the other hand, lacked any prior experience before entering the White House in 2008 and appears overwhelmed by the one serious economic challenge he has confronted.

The complements to Romney are strong but the brickbats swung at the President are not something you would expect to read from a Massachusetts paper that endorsed him the last time around.

President Obama continues to say America is in an economic recovery. The families broken by his recovery, whose cornerstone was Obama’s $787 billion economic stimulus package, know otherwise: Public-sector employees and union workers got “shovel-ready” projects and dollars; the private-sector got the shaft and more regulations.

In 2008, an unproven Obama promised things would turn out differently with him in charge. “Change we can believe in” is how he put it. Four years later we realize it was all made up.

All made up? Can we make it sound even worse? YES IT CAN!

Jack M. AoSHQ: If you wanna win, you gotta learn how to play Head Games:

Remember when Clint Eastwood stood up at the GOP convention and made it culturally acceptable to acknowledge what, heretofore, had only been spoken of on right wing blogs and talk radio: namely that our so-called president was an empty chair?

Of course you do. It was awesome.

Well, remember what our soon-to-be ex-president’s immediate response to Eastwood was? He manned-up and asserted his Alpha-male dominance in the most Beta-male way possible: he sent out a tweet. Of the back of his head. In a chair with a label on it, kinda like the labels your mom may have put in your underwear before sending you off to summer camp to be beat up by the kids who noticed you had labels in your underwear.

Here’s that tweet. (Warning, links to the president’s twitter feed). “This seat’s taken.” Oh meeeee-owwwwwww.

Oh, the chortles that Team Barry must have had over that tweet. I’m sure Axelrod and Plouffe were high-fiving each other over this devastatingly macho rejoinder to being called out by one of the Great American Iconic Tough Guys.

Fast forward a couple of months though. Guess who has a new ad out? Why…it’s the soon to be 45th President of the United States, Mitt Romney.

And guess what image is used to frame the opening scene. That’s right: the tweet that Team Barry sent out.

Niiiiice…video at the link.

A Dem Disaster in CA via MY Desert: Raul Ruiz lauds Leonard Peltier in tape released by Mary Bono Mack:

Aide: Democrat does not recall 1999 rally address praising Native American convicted of murdering two FBI agents

Officials with Rep. Mary Bono Mack’s campaign, at a press conference Thursday, released an audiotapein which her Democratic opponent, Raul Ruiz, can be heard reading a letter of support for Leonard Peltier, a Native American convicted in 1977 of murdering two FBI agents on an Indian reservation in South Dakota.

AUDIO: Raul Ruiz reading Leonard Peltier support letter

The tape is purportedly from an anti-Thanksgiving rally in 1999, two years after a similar rally highlighted last week by Bono Mack’s campaign at which Ruiz, then a Harvard University medical student, was arrested. Ruiz pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and tumultuous behavior in the 1997 incident, and the charges were later dropped.

Ouch! I wouldn’t want to remember that, either!

The Right Scoop: War on women? McCaskill business sued for sexual harassment:

Looks like the real war on women is happening to women in McCaskill’s husband’s business. This from Dana Loesch this morning:

While Senator Claire McCaskill has engaged in political subterfuge by pushing a “war on women” against her opponent Representative Todd Akin, her husband’s Illinois business is being sued for sexual harassment.

A female marketing employee of Sugar Creek, one of the largest and most valuable of Joe Shephard’s properties, filed suit against the company in 2009. Shepherd is the husband of Senator McCaskill who has before come under fire for having been accused of being “slumlord.”

RED ALERT:

SilenceDogood2010’s Blog: Massive Voter Fraud in NC:

UPDATE on Oct. 21, 2012 – 74 MORE 112 year olds voted on Saturday, bringing the total to 832 votes.

Here in NC, we have a local organization that posts RAW DATA from the NC State BoE site. It’s called Vote Tracker.

Well, one of my fellow patriots has brought to my attention, that we have what appears as Massive Voter Fraud. After only 2 days of our “ONE STOP VOTING” we have 758 individuals, who are 112 Years Old, that have already cast ballots here in NC for the November 6th General Election.

According to the 2010 US Census, there are only 330 people, over 110 years old, in the entire United States.

The Examiner: North Carolina Registers Over 583 Democrat Votes Over the Age of 112:

In fact, two of the 112 year aged voters were mail-in ballots from overseas; ostensibly vacationing to escape the now bitterly polarized political contest, and who can blame them?

But it gets worse when we note from another concerned voter, who indicated the following explanation, which goes but one full measure further to explain what’s happening in NC during this voting season of , perhaps, persistent political zombies:

I overheard a nice lady about 70 telling her friend the following: “Yes, I voted today.”

“Going back tomorrow too.”

“They took us to a place that don’t ask names and don’t write nothing down. They give $20 each time.”

She then handed her friend a card I couldn’t see and told her friend to call the number.

This same tipster later sent a message indicating that he had, indeed, contacted the local election center, who immediately patted him upon the head graciously for being a good citizen with a promise to check on it again much later, in due course.

Obviously there is a problem, one in which voter ID might clearly provide a solution. A thing that only the Democratic party swears against at any cost, and for reasons becoming quite obvious.

The only way the Empty Chair can win is through voter fraud and campaign finance fraud. What can be done when a thoroughly corrupt regime is policed by a thoroughly corrupt DOJ?

Linked by Michelle Malkin, thanks!
