Hmmm: John Boehner Knows About the Libyan Gun trafficking But Somehow Hillary Doesn’t? (Video)

While appearing on Laura Ingraham’s radio show, Thursday morning, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH)  was asked about the  testimony of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton relative to the Benghazi attacks on 9/11.

Via Walid Shoebat:

At the end of this clip via the Daily Caller (h/t Diana West), Boehner addresses the question asked of Clinton by Rand Paul, which involved whether or not the CIA Annex was being used as a hub for gun trafficking.

Here is the relevant portion transcribed:

Ingraham: Mr. Speaker, Rand Paul asked a question about funneling perhaps arms from Turkey through that CIA Annex to be shipped ultimately to Syrian rebels. Hillary Clinton – there was about four or five beats before she answered the question. Do you know anything about this and have you been briefed on any possibilities…?

Boehner: I’m somewhat familiar with the chatter about this and the fact that these arms were moving toward Turkey but most of what I know about this came from a classified source and really can’t elaborate on it.

You can listen to the audio at the link.

So John Boehner, the Speaker of the House  is familiar with this classified material, but the Secretary of State is not?

Recall how “shocked” she was at the question:

Strains credulity doesn’t it?

Paul: …Is the United States involved with an procuring of weapons, transfer of weapons, buying, selling, anyhow transferring weapons to Turkey out of Libya?

Clinton: To Turkey? I will have to take that question for the record. Nobody’s ever raised that with me.

Paul: It’s been in news reports that ships have been leaving from Libya and that they may have weapons, and what I would like to know is, the annex that was close by – were they involved with procuring, buying, selling weapons, and are these weapons being transferred to other countries? Any countries, Turkey included?

Clinton: Well Senator, you’ll have to direct that question to the agency that ran the Annex. I will see what information is available…

Paul: You’re saying you don’t know?

Clinton: I do not know. I have no information on that.

She’s a world class liar, is she not? But we shouldn’t expect any less from a Clinton.

Me on Twitter, yesterday during the hearing:

Clinton doth protest too much on Rand Paul’s question about weapons from Libya to Syria via Turkey. She’s never heard of such a thing!

Shouldn’t Republicans be pressing this issue a little harder given the possibility that our people in Benghazi were killed with weapons we supplied the jihadis? That seems somewhat important…

Robert Spencer, FrontPageMagazine: Hillary Lets the Jihadist Cat Out of the Bag:

After four years of pretending there is no jihad against the free world, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blurted out the truth during her testimony on the Benghazi jihad massacre Wednesday: “We now face a spreading jihadist threat,” she said, adding: “We have to recognize this is a global movement.”

We do? Yet the Obama administration has for years steadfastly and repeatedly denied both that there was a jihadist threat at all and that it was a global movement. So far has the Obama administration been from acknowledging that there was a jihad threat that less than two months into Obama’s first term, on March 16, 2009, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano noted proudly that in her first testimony to Congress, “I did not use the word ‘terrorism,’ I referred to ‘man-caused’ disasters. That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.”

Let me see, I think I have this correct: Ron Paul’s son accused  Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of, a) culpability in the death of Ambassador Stevens and 3 others, b) inadequate leadership and c) covering up a covert US arms smuggling operation to Syrian “freedom fighters.” Wow! That would make a great movie. It’s sort of like the Iran Contra guns-for-hostages Affair except that the guns went to the bad guys, there weren’t any hostages until after the gun deal went down, and the State Controlled Media doesn’t think it’s important enough to report on.

And what is it about Big Guy’s Administration and guns? They can’t seem to keep track of them unless they belong to U.S. citizens.

DiFi’s Ban on “Assault Rifles” Not Likely to Pass so What’s the Real Agenda? UPDATED With Sen. Ted Cruz Statement NRA Responds

Sen. Feinstein introduced  legislation to ban the sale and manufacture of more than 150 types of semi-automatic weapons with military-style features at a press conference, today.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein and a group of Senate Democrats on Thursday introduced legislation to ban the sale and manufacture of more than 150 types of semi-automatic weapons with military-style features.

The legislation also bans magazines holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition and requires people who already own assault rifles to use secure storage and safety devices and bars them from selling high-capacity clips.

“No weapon is taken from anyone,” said Feinstein. “The purpose is to dry up the supply of these weapons over time.”

Unlike the 1994 assault-weapons ban, there is no sunset provision in Feinstein’s newest gun-control bill.

The press conference was cynically opened with a prayer:

The Very Rev. Gary Hall, dean of the National Cathedral in Washington, said Thursday morning that “people of faith” should come together to fight for gun control against the “gun lobby.” In his opening remarks at a press conference on gun control organized by California Democrat Dianne Feinstein, Hall spoke about the influence of the so-called gun lobby in Washington. “Now, everyone in this city seems to live in terror of the gun lobby,” Hall said. “But I believe the gun lobby is no match for the cross lobby.”

Watch video of that, here.

As CNN reported, Feinstein got special permission from the DC police department to display the scary looking “assault weapons” she’s decided Americans don’t need to have.

There is approximately zero chance of DiFi’s bill getting passed in the House and the Senate, so what are these gun grabbing Dems up to?

As always, there’s a method to their madness.

Ann Coulter thinks their thinking ahead to 2014 with a play to win over low info soccer moms:

The good news is: Obama and the Senate Democrats have no intention of passing more idiotic gun legislation in response to the Newtown massacre. The bad news is that they also have no intention of passing any legislation about the mentally ill, which would actually do something to reduce these mass shootings.

Instead, the Democrats will jawbone about “assault weapons” and other meaningless gun laws for the sole purpose of scaring soccer moms into hating the National Rifle Association. Expect to hear a lot about Republicans preferring “the gun lobby” to “children.” (Which is evidently not at all like preferring the teachers lobby to children.)

Democrats are hoping to pick up another dozen congressional seats in 2014, so they need terrified women.

Just don’t expect a vote. Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid cannot afford a vote on any of these nonsense gun laws because he needs to protect the seats of Democrats who have to get re-elected in districts where voters know something about guns.

Even the stupidest politician has to know how utterly meaningless “assault weapon” bans are. (In fairness, New York’s Rep. Carolyn McCarthy and Gov. Andrew Cuomo may not know.) But Democrats need to gin up the most easily fooled voters.

There may be some truth to that, but I think Bob Owens is closer to the mark:

Let’s skip the crap: Democrats have zero chance of passing Dianne Feinstein’s fantasy ban on semi-automatic rifles through the Senate, much less the House of Representatives.

It isn’t even their real goal. It’s a tactical diversion. For now, at least.

What Feinstein and her fellow bullies want is to browbeat legislators to “compromise.”

In Democratese, “compromise” is when they demand a dozen liberties be stripped from you, and give the most outlandish rights away and “accept” just one or two of your freedoms being stripped away.

The apparent real targets of the various Democratic bans floating through Washington are:

  • Bans of standard capacity magazines
  • A national gun registry
  • tracking, limiting sales of ammunition, or stopping online sales of ammunition.

All of those measures need to be vigorously opposed. There can be no compromise with these  would be tyrants.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz Statement on Sen. Feinstein’s Assault Weapons Ban of 2013

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) today issued the following statement regarding Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) Assault Weapons Ban of 2013:

Washington politicians shouldn’t be taking advantage of recent tragedy to try to push an aggressive gun control agenda. Real assault weapons—machine guns—are already functionally illegal, and they have been since 1934. This proposal would have done nothing to prevent the terrible murders in Newtown, but it would limit the constitutional liberties of law-abiding citizens. And gun control doesn’t work – the empirical data overwhelmingly demonstrate that strict gun-control laws consistently produce more crime and more murders.

The Second Amendment exists to ensure that law-abiding Americans can protect their homes and families, and I look forward to helping lead the fight to defeat this bill and to protect our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
