Keith Ellison’s Hajj Paid For By Muslim Brotherhood Front Group

keith-ellison

Minnesota’s Muslim Congressman, Keith Ellison recently made the the pilgrimage to  Mecca. Why is that newsworthy? I’ll let Robert Spencer explain:

The Muslim American Society paid for his Hajj. And what is the Muslim American Society? The Muslim Brotherhood.

“In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation’s major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members.” — Chicago Tribune, 2004.

Spencer reminds us of what these folks have said about their plans  for America:

The Muslim Brotherhood “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” — “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America,” by Mohamed Akram, May 19, 1991.

He asks a good question:

Imagine if a conservative Congressman had taken a trip that had been paid for by a Christian group that was, according to one of its own documents, dedicated to “eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house” so that Christian law would replace the U.S. Constitution. I expect we would hear more of an outcry than we are hearing about this.

I haven’t heard anything until now, myself.

Atlas Shrugs notes:

At the hajj, on Mount Arafat, a Grand Mufti’s annual sermon placed blamed for the worlds economic crisis and recommended a solution (hint: sharia):

Saudi Arabia’s top cleric has used his annual sermon to Muslim pilgrims assembling for hajj to urge Muslim countries to renounce capitalism and form an Islamic economic bloc that adopts interest-free finance.

Grand Mufti Abdelaziz Al al-Sheikh told worshippers assembling on the plain of Mount Arafat that global economies now caught in crisis were suffering the result of using interest as a bedrock of their financial systems. Under Islamic law, or sharia, paying or receiving interest is forbidden.

One wonders how much of this, Ellison took to heart.

He did take to the podium at the annual fund-raising banquet for CAIR on December 10th, and said:

…qualified American Muslims should apply for some of the 8,000 jobs he said are available now in the incoming Obama administration. He says that today – with a new U.S. president sporting “Hussein” as his middle name – there is no excuse for shying away from work because of an accent or a foreign name.

Just a little concerned, here….
