The National Journal reports this morning:
Grassley said he spoke with a Democratic House member last week who shared Obama’s bleak reaction during a private meeting to reports that some factions of House Democrats were lining up to stall or even take down the overhaul unless leaders made major changes.
“Let’s just lay everything on the table,” Grassley said. “A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn’t going to pass if there weren’t some changes made … and the president says, ‘You’re going to destroy my presidency.’ “
Think about this:
With the Dems’ help, he’s been spectacularly successful at destroying the U.S. economy. But the fact that this disaster is effecting his approval ratings and causing the saner Dems to step on the breaks, is all the Narcissist in Chief cares about!

As the prospects for passing health reform by the time Congress leaves for its August recess look bleaker, Democratic grumbling about President Obama is growing louder. One Democratic senator tells CNN congressional Democrats are “baffled,” and another senior Democratic source tells CNN members of the president’s own party are still “frustrated” that they’re not getting more specific direction from him on health care. “We appreciate the rhetoric and his willingness to ratchet up the pressure but what most Democrats on the Hill are looking for is for the president to weigh in and make decisions on outstanding issues.
What’s the matter? Did Pelosi run out of money to bribe them with?

Rasmussen: 53% oppose ObamaCare
The health care reform legislation working its way through Congress has lost support over the past month. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 44% of U.S. voters are at least somewhat in favor of the reform effort while 53% are at least somewhat opposed.
Obama will try to resuscitate his plan in tonight’s press conference. Keef and Tingles are counting down the minutes. (link fixed).

My converations with my doctor about my healthcare is PRIVATE! I don’t want some federal jerkwad employee sitting there, writing everything down. However, if we go down this road, that’s how it’s going to be. You will be told what doctor you’ll see, when and where. If you fail to follow the Dr.’s orders….no insurance for you. This will be like the military. Nanny State off the charts. People need to write their reps and let them know. This crap needs to be stopped today.

The really ironic thing about this is that if Congress passes this clusterfark it will do more damage to Obama than he can imagine. In fact, virtually all his policies (save for the ones he is copying from the Bush administration) are disasterous. The stimulus? Failure on a massive scale that any econ 101 student could have predicted. Takeover of the auto industry? Failure. Crap and Tax? Nightmare.
But who could have predicted a community organizer with marxist beliefs and who failed spectacularly in his only executive position would be a disaster?

Typical of a self-serving politician. The next step is for him to bring in his jackboots to enforce his will. For once it would be nice if the fools actually read the bill before they vote on it. That being said, obama would not have gotten any of his bills through if they actually read them first. Everything has been a “crisis” and “had” to be done NOW!!! Maybe the bad press and the fact that they have to stand for election soon will make them actually do their jobs for a change.
If they want to fix something that would have an immediate effect on healthcare cost then reform the tort laws. The lawyers are the only ones making a killing in the health business. The fear of being sued drives unnecessary test and services. Fix the laws and get government out of the medical business and allow the doctors to do what they went to school to do. This would be the first step, LESS GOVERNMENT; NOT MORE!!!

He is not transparent like he promised and he cannot be trusted. It is not wise to rush into things and if he does not reveal the facts, then he must be hideing things.
He spoke of leaving the past behind, but continues to blam everyone else for everything.
