White House Releases Birth Certificate (Finally), Trump Claims Victory

I honestly didn’t think Obama was ever going to release the birth certificate because either A.) It was missing or B.) there was something on there that he was hiding. Why else would he have spent so much money fighting the numerous court challenges? Why didn’t this come out two years ago? This is so bizarre.

The Donald, in typical bombastic fashion, is taking full credit: “Today I am very proud of myself,” he said. “I am really proud, I am really honored. … I’m taking great credit:”

If everything checks out, this should satisfy most doubters, but I’m with Trump –“Why didn’t he do this a long time ago? It’s shocking!”

In a blog post on the White House website,  Dan Pfeiffer explained the reason for finally releasing the birth certificate:

The President believed the distraction over his birth certificate wasn’t good for the country. It may have been good politics and good TV, but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country. Therefore, the President directed his counsel to review the legal authority for seeking access to the long form certificate and to request on that basis that the Hawaii State Department of Health make an exception to release a copy of his long form birth certificate. They granted that exception in part because of the tremendous volume of requests they had been getting.

It’s been a “distraction” for a very long time. I don’t even know what to say about a president who would hold out on something like this, (when even members of the U.S. military have doubts about his legitimacy), because “it’s good politics.”

I suspect that the only reason they finally released this is because it had become “bad politics”.

Via Sky News, Obama, addressing the White House press corps, said:

“We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers,” he said.

“Normally, I would not comment on something like this.”

“We do not have time for this kind of silliness … I’ve better stuff to do,” he said.

I bet it took all of a half an hour to arrange for the release of the birth certificate from the state of Hawaii. He’s got better stuff to do. Uh huh, We know.

But the fact that Obama refused to take this simple action for two years — when it was always easy for him to do so — means that his reasons for withholding it were not, as the media swore (incorrectly) that he was bound by law, but rather simply he didn’t want to.

And he didn’t want to either because he’s thin-skinned and thought this an affront or because he cynically calculated that driving some people batty would be good for his election chances.

Those are the only two possible reasons. The media’s made-up, go-to “reason,” that it’s against the law for the President to seek his own birth certificate from his close friend and ally, the Governor of Hawaii — is and always was false.

Yeah, I had seen that, (Allahpundit linked to Tommy Christopher’s Birther debunking). I figured it was complete b.s. The president of the United States isn’t allowed to access his own birth certificate?  Nonsense.  The media really bends over backwards for this guy.

As Trump, ahem, is proud to have proven today.

Whose Distraction Is It Anyway? While Obama huffs and puffs, peevishly, about this “distraction”…

…I can’t help but notice that the distraction existed precisely because Obama refused to place a two minute phone call to former Governor Lingle, and then, later, refused to place a one minute phone call to one of his oldest friends, Governor Abercrombie, and when I say “oldest” friends, I mean it — Abercrombie saw baby Barack shortly after he was born, and they’ve been friends since Obama was a conscious, self-aware individual.

Why is Obama gaslighting the American people? Why is he toying with, gaming the American people? I broke the story of the altered COLB back in June and July of 2008 — the COLB he posted to his farcically-titled blog, “Fight the Smears,” was an altered document. He subsequently admitted to dual citzenship for close to half his life. The question was a real one, and the American people have a right to know who and what is serving them at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

We owe Trump a debt of gratitude.

Will Obama now explain how he came to Khalid al-Mansour?

Yes, Trump should definitely bring up al-Mansour while he’s got the everyone’s attention.

There is absolutely nothing on the newly-released certificate that appears worth spending millions of dollars in legal fees to prevent release in various lawsuits that have been filed. Which raises serious questions about the president’s motives in hiding the certificate.

At least 2 websites are questioning the validity of the docuemnt released (here and here). Obama would have to be insane or desperate to fake this. There’s plenty of time for forensic analysis.

This document has been altered and whoever did it wasn’t even very clever in doing so.

I noticed the possible “layers” in this document almost immediately. When I had the .pdf file of the BC open in my browser then used Command + Tab (on an Apple computer), to switch to another app, I noticed that the majority of the text disappeared. I recreated the effect numerous times. As others have suggested, when you open the BC in Acrobat (full version) and strip out the “Metadata” and “Deleted or cropped content” this SAME EXACT TEXT disappears leaving only a few bits of type, date stamps and all or part of three signatures: his mother, the attendant and the local registrar. Also, some of the digits used in the Aug. 8, 1961 date stamp disappear. The full background and the April 25, 2011 stamp remain. I am making no “birther” claims, but CLEARLY this document has been altered. If it had been photographed or scanned, the pixels containing all the information (the document background, the type, the signatures, date stamps and the check marks) would be part of ONE pixelated image. As someone who uses Photoshop/Adobe Creative Suite daily, it is my belief that had the BC been scanned or photographed, the layering would not happen. Again, I am making NO “birther” claims or conclusions. But I believe this document has been altered.

I was hoping this case was closed.

What’s plausible is that somewhere along the way — from the scanning device to the PDF-creation software, both of which can perform OCR (optical character recognition) — these partial/pseudo-text images were created and saved. What’s not plausible is that the government spent all this time manufacturing Obama’s birth certificate only to commit the laughably rookie mistake of exporting the layers from Photoshop, or whatever photo editing software they are meant to have used. It’s likely that whoever scanned the birth certificate in Hawaii forgot to turn off the OCR setting on the scanner. Let’s leave it at that.

I’ve confirmed that scanning an image, converting it to a PDF, optimizing that PDF, and then opening it up in Illustrator, does in fact create layers similar to what is seen in the birth certificate PDF. You can try it yourself at home.
