Tapes Reveal Moderate, Bridge-building GZ Imam Not So Moderate

Momentum was already running out of steam for the Cordoba bunch, but these tapes, if they’re everything they’re cracked up to be, should stop this juggermosque cold:

Altas Shrugs reports:

Steve Emerson has unearthed 13 hours of audio tape of Imam Rauf. Emerson and his team of investigators has spent the past four weeks going through the newly found material. Rauf  is a “radical extremist cleric who cloaks himself in sheep’s clothing.”

Among the shocking revelations Emerson’s team will reveal next week — they found Rauf:

Defending wahhabism – a puritanical version of Islam that governs Saudi Arabia

Calling for the elimination of Israel by claiming a one-nation state, meaning no more Jewish State.

Defending Bin Laden’s violence

Demonstrating that there is a lot more to this man than merely a cleric.

The American public now sees the “deception perpetrated by all these Islamic groups that claim they are against violence and terrorism and insist that their rights be respected but in reality are fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Emerson states there is “definitely fraud involved in the entities that Rauf created in the last decade that are co-mingled.” Emerson took it to the IRS, who said, “you have a case.”

There is intel that the shady developers, the Gamal brothers, will be going to radical Islamic organizations to serve as connectors — CAIR,  MPAC — so that they do their bidding for the money.

The ground zero mosque organizers aren’t the only ones who will be taking a hit on this. Their simpering supporters, namely the President, most Dems, and the MSM are going to have to answer for it, too. Was it so important for them to oppose conservatives, that they would have allowed the travesty of a terror-supporting mosque to have been  built on top of the graveyard of 3000 Americans? Why is it that 65%-70% of Americans, (including the new Muslim Miss America) have more sense than these idiots?

Ace says it’s going to cost them:

Remember: You — Obama and the MFM — went out a limb to vouch for this guy, putting the whole of your credibility and judgment behind the proposition that he is a well-meaning, peaceful moderate and you’d have to be crazy to think otherwise.

Well. Well. Let’s check the tapes.

We know the first, second, and last defense that will be screamed by the left: B-b-but Bush said he was moderate….!

Yeah? And? Bush didn’t stake his political future on the man’s purported “moderation,” either.

Bush made a big show of reaching out to moderate Muslims after 9/11, a noble and worthy effort. Unfortunately, he was fooled by a few of them, including, apparently,  Rauf.

Linked by Michelle Malkin in Buzzworthy, thanks!

Once the Imam said, “Sharia Law”–it was all over. No sane American will allow religious abuse law to replace our Constitutional Law.

Can this guy be shipped back to Saudi Arabia or Pakistan so he can get full benefits of his dreams? We don’t need him here.

  5. Well that was explosively nonspecific.
Do us a favor and refer to it as his Whitey Tape until it’s released, eh ?

  6. Of course, the things is that nothing on those tapes will distract liberals from support the GZ mosque, because they themselves believe those same things.

Wahhabism? Liberals prefer fascism, but, close enough. And, they will whine about the US support for Saudi Arabia.

Eliminating Israel? The Left wants that.

Bin Laden? The Left loves their talking points that we created him and 9/11 was justified because of the USA.

And then they will call us all raaaaacists, bigots, and Islamophobes, typical default liberal argument points.

And, Francis is correct, there is no moderate Islam. Those we call “moderates” are actually the radicals, since they are not actually following the teachings of Mohammed and the Koran. People like Bin Laden, Zawahiri, and Rauf are.

  7. Hey Deja vu…the tapes will be released next week. Then the charges will be a bit more specific, and you’ll have to fall back on, (like Teach said) calling us raaaaacists.)

  8. Amusing, a pseudonymous commentator casting aspersions on a devoted, widely respected researcher such as Emerson. Perhaps he should change his moniker to “Vuja De:” the eerie sense that nothing has ever happened before. That would be more in line with the left-liberal mindset.

  9. Francis, what’s Emerson got to do with anything?

Do you think he was behind hearing “one-state solution” and portraying that here as a suggestion that the Gaza Strip takes over governance of Israel?
You know, that makes as much sense and is as scary and threatening as Guam taking over Washington DC.
Like a dog washer from Colorado might be forgiven for assuming, but really not so much someone with Emerson’s job. FFS.

Or is it your understanding that “respected researcher” would never of been heard anywhere near Emerson if he in any way bought or talked batsheet nonsense like that?

So you be amused by my name and I’ll be amused by how guillible you are, yet again with the explosive tapes. Seriously, did you miss the part where not only are the statements on the tapes “quote” “free” but so is the vague description of their existence and contents, supposedly from a reputable 3rd party.

Why? Are we thinking Emerson communicated this to Geller in a finger painting? Or are we back again at the part where I remind you that you don’t get to be called “respected researcher” if you participate in complete BS. Which may explain why there is nothing to suggest he has.

  10. No Deb, it came from me remembering the last time someone promised the pending release of an explosive revelation on tape that would destroy someone’s reputation and for some reason they only had a vague description of the contents rather than something they could put quote marks around.

You know, like you’d expect from a story that concerns nothing except quotes. Sheesh.

If on the other hand it comes out, says no such thing and completely contradicts this description but everyone still pretends just as hard as they can that it does, I’ll call it the SEIU video instead, without any need for meme assistance.

If it has ridiculously suspect edits and the whole thing is refused to be released…. well I guess I’ll have quite a few references to pick from then. You know, what with this “explosive tape turning out to be BS” thing pretty much being a sport at this point.

Seriously, why wouldn’t you just wait instead? This isn’t even the boy that cried wolf at this point. It’s the boy that cried pterodactyl attack.

  11. Personally I’ll 6 dozen National Review articles and throw them in the bin until someone posts the one says the Bush State Dept vetting this guy and then approving him as an official US representative on is false.

I mean, really. If Nancy Pelosi has him round Tue, Thurs, and Sat every week for supper and really likes his home decor, that still doesn’t rate alongside that.

  12. Not to put too fine of a point on it, but Geller now has her post up with full transcript and she appears to be 0 from 4 on these claims.

The “one state solution” issue was exactly what was predicted. One person’s pathetic attempt to lie about what was said in order to misrepresent the person quoting once what you can find thousands of times being referenced in the transcripts of every US and non-US administration for decades.

The 2nd amendment actually being about the arms of bears would be less intellectually dishonest misinterpretation that has never been applied before now either.

    Simply pathetic.

  13. Her claim: “Calling for the elimination of Israel by claiming a one-nation state, meaning no more Jewish State”.

The tapes show him favoring a one-state solution which would effectively eradicate Israel as a Jewish state.

He didn’t come right out and call for the elimination of Israel, but that would be the result.
