Biden’s Appalling Moral Blindness On Display in China

He did not. Tell me this nominal Catholic did not go to China in his attempt to revive the financial image of the US,  and tacitly approve of one of the most brutal and heinous  policies in modern times.

In his statement, Biden talked about the other set of concerns about the one-child policy — demographic — in that China will increasingly have similar problems to the United States in terms of paying for entitlements to the growing number of people retiring who will need government support to make ends meet and a smaller population of younger workers able to take care of those obligations.

“But as I was talking to some of your leaders, you share a similar concern here in China. You have no safety net,” Biden said in the prepared remarks. “Your policy has been one which I fully understand — I’m not second-guessing — of one child per family. The result being that you’re in a position where one wage earner will be taking care of four retired people. Not sustainable.”

“So hopefully we can act in a way on a problem that’s much less severe than yours, and maybe we can learn together from how we can do that,” he continued.

We can learn from China????

How morally confused is Biden? Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin quips:

Mass forced abortions is an entitlement sustainability problem but climate change is a moral dilemma? Sure, put Joe in charge of our health care!

It’s bad enough when we avert our gaze….but to come out with a sympathetic expression of understanding about a policy that forces late term abortions on unwilling women ….this has to be a new low for this administration.

Here are some examples of China’s one-child policy in action, that our happy-go-lucky VP dares not “second guess”:

SBA List:

I was drug out of the van. I saw hundreds of pregnant Moms there – all of them, just like pigs in the slaughter house. Then I was put into a room with several other Moms. The room was full of Moms who had just gone through a forced abortion. Some Moms were crying, some Moms were mourning, some Moms were screaming, and one Mom was rolling on the floor with unbearable pain…

I could hear the sound of the scissors cutting the body of my baby in my womb…The surgery was finished and one nurse showed me part of a bloody foot with her tweezers. Through my tears, the picture of the bloody foot was engraved into my eyes and into my heart, and so clearly I could see the five small bloody toes. Immediately the baby was thrown into a trash can.

Womens’ Rights Without Borders:

In 2009, Liu Dan was 21 years old and 9 months pregnant when family planning police grabbed her out of her home, dragged her pleading and crying to the local family planning office, and forcibly aborted her full term baby.  They did this even though they already knew from medical tests that she had high blood pressure and that a forced late term abortion would be dangerous for her.  After the forced abortion, she lay alone and unconscious in an operating room in the family planning center.  Sensing something was wrong, her fiancé burst into the room at 3:00 a.m. to find her bleeding from the eyes, nose, ears and mouth.  Even so, the family planning police refused to call for emergency help, until her family insisted.  Help arrived too late.  Liu Dan died, along with her full term baby.

LifeSiteNews:

The Associated Press picked up the story after the Arabic news network Al Jazeera released a videotaped interviewwith Luo,  who described his futile attempts to save his baby from death, and his wife from unspeakable abuse, at the hands of the Chinese government.”I tried and tried to save her, from the moment she was taken,” said Luo. “Those 48 hours … I didn’t sleep but three hours. I couldn’t eat. … My whole person, my whole being – I don’t know what to say. I just tried so hard.”

Luo said he rushed home October 10 after he heard his wife Xiao Aiying was taken by “Family Planning officials,” but was too late – she had been dragged away about ten minutes before. “I didn’t know where they had taken her,” he said. “When I finally found the place, they’d locked my wife in a separate room.”

Luo said the couple hadn’t been sure whether they were allowed more than one child – Luo was from the city, while Xiao was from the country – and that he tried to dissuade authorities from aborting the child.

“They told me the one-child policy meant we had to abort the baby,” he said. “I protested. The baby was eight months. That’s a living being. You can’t just get rid of a life.” Authorities gave Luo a day to come up with an alternative solution, but to no avail.

The next day, after his wife failed to pick up her phone, “I knew something was wrong and rushed back to her,” said Luo.

“There were many people surrounding my wife. They held her arms behind her back held her head against the wall, kicked her stomach, I don’t know if they were trying to give her a miscarriage right there and then. Her arms, legs, neck – were all injured. I was so angry. I told them, ‘We haven’t had the chance to even talk about a solution. How can you beat her?'” he said. “For the rest of that day, I had no news of my wife.”

Luo later learned that his child had been killed in utero by lethal injection, leaving only their nine-year-old daughter. “It was only after the lethal injection that they let my wife call me,” said Luo, visibly distraught. “This is the fourth day, and my daughter asks, ‘Where has mother gone and why has she been away?’ My daughter’s been feeling my wife’s belly as it has grown larger and larger over the months. And my daughter says, ‘I’ll have a little brother soon!’

“I dont’ know how I can possibly explain to her what has happened.”

An official told the Associated Press that Xiao’s husband had approved the abortion, but Luo denied the claim. ” “I called the police but they said family planning issues weren’t their responsibility,” Luo told the AP. “I want to sue, but lawyers I’ve asked here say they can’t help me and the media won’t report on our case.”

In the video, Luo despaired at pursuing justice in the totalitarian country. “These were government officials who did this. I’m just an ordinary man, I can’t really fight back,” he said. “If anything they’ll find a way to frame me. You know how it works.” He said he was now worried about his wife, who had still not been released from the hospital where the baby was murdered. The dead baby was reportedly delivered on October 14.

These horrors, of course, only represent a tip of the iceberg. The stories are legion.  This has been going on since the late seventies, so do the math…..our nation’s leaders used to forcefully condemn blatant evils like forced abortion.

Never mind Obama. We already have a pretty good idea where he stands on China’s one-child policy. I doubt Obama’s ever met a totalitarian policy he wouldn’t fully embrace if given the chance. But et tu, Biden? Seriously? …Our nation’s leaders used to forcefully condemn blatant evils like forced abortion. G.W. Bush took a lot of flack for withholding funds from the UN Fund’s for Population Activities (UNFPA), which helps facilitate China’s extreme population control methods.

But the times, they are a-changin’

An ex-Planned Parenthood Director and Obama supporter, Norman Fleishman recently praised China’s One-Child policy in an oped.

Via LifeNews:

In a new letter to the editorto the Napa Valley Register newspaper, Norman Fleishman, praises the policy as he offers his support for the Obama administration’s recent decision forcing insurance companies to cover birth control and drugs that can cause abortion.

“The Obama administration’s mandate that all health plans must provide to women, with no charge, all government-approved contraceptives, has already reignited debate on the federal role in health care,” Fleishman writes. “Ah, how I remember “Every child a wanted child,” our motto at Planned Parenthood. And I do welcome this legislation.

Fleishman goes on to condemn the world’s population growth and says the Obama mandate and the one-child policy is needed to stem that.

“Unless we act (this legislation, along with China’s “one child” policy, is a start), the world is doomed to strangle among coils of pitiless exponential growth,” he concludes.

Would it surprise you to know that Obama included funding in the 2009 Omnibus spending bill for the UNFPA to help China enforce its One-child laws?

A cool  $50 million went to the  cause in the 2009 Omnibus spending bill:

State Department to Release UNFPA Funds for First Time Since 2002

Earlier this week, the State Department issued a statement announcing it will provide a contribution of $50 million to the UN Population Fund (UNFPA). The funds were provided in the FY09 omnibus bill. In each of the past seven years, the Bush administration withheld contributions appropriated by Congress after concluding that the agency’s activities in China indirectly supported government policies that led to coercive abortions. In its statement, the State Department noted that UNFPA “is the principal international organization supporting programs that provide access to voluntary family planning and reproductive health services” and said it looks forward to “working closely with UNFPA on these important programs.”

Back-atcha Maxine

Breitbart TV has the Despicable Maxine Waters Tea Party Attack Media is Ignoring: Tea Party Can Go to Hell, ‘I Intend to Help Them Get There’

While the media plays up the Los Angeles congresswoman’s “the Tea Party can go straight to hell’ comments from this weekend, they are ignoring what she said right after that. When the wild cheers of the audience calmed down, Rep. Waters then said: “And I intend to help them get there.”

Watch video at link.

Oh Maxine!

Whether she’s attacking the tea party, or trying to placate Obama’s base, (“We’re tired ya’ll!”), can someone tell me why we should give this absurd hack one second of our attention? This is all anyone has to know about Maxine Waters to make an assessment:

Oh, too bad she was cut off. She was extolling the “outstanding leadership” of the now disgraced Fannie Mae crook exec, Franklin Raines.

From what I can tell, being on this woman’s sh*t-list is a badge of honor.

UPDATE:

Rick Santorum reacted to the comments by calling Maxine Water “vile” on the Steve Malzberg Show, today:

Video: Karl Rove Smacks Down Both Bret Baier And Bill Burton

Boy Howdy.

Love him or hate him (and there are certainly reasons for Tea Party conservatives to hate him) Karl Rove can be a powerful asset to team R.

Watch him go after the Obama administration, demolish every feeble argument Burton throws out there, like his weak, years old attack lines about the Bush economy and Iraq war.  Rove helpfully reminded him that Obama voted with the Dems to filibuster reforming Fannie and Freddie, and appointed Hillary Clinton, (WHO VOTED FOR THE WAR) to be his Sec. of State.

Karl Rove has chunks of guys like Burton in his stool.

Yeah, Brett took some body blows from Rove at the beginning, but recovered in time to get some kicks in to Burton towards the end – not letting him get away with the lie that Republicans are holding up some trade agreements, when the White House hasn’t submitted them to Congress, yet..

Oh, and we can add Burton to the growing list of Obama administration officials (present and former) who are attacking Republicans for “putting politics above country”. How disgusting.

Burton: “What the President needs in Washington are partners who will work with him to actually make progress in this country not just people like Eric Cantor, John Boehner, and Mitch McConnell who would much rather see the economy do poorly so they can score political points than see America succeed.

Rove: Bill,  with all due respect, do not question the motivations and the integrity of the people on the other side. It’s a really bad way to try and get partners. We can’t have political disagreements without you questioning our motivations – that’s not a way to get partners.

Burton ( crosstalk):”I don’t think ‘all due respect’ means what you think it means, Karl”

Do we really need another smug spokes-twerp from the Obama administration stinking up the air on Fox?

Weasel Zippers: Obama’s Long-Awaited “Very Specific Plan” On Job Creation Downgraded To Just An “Outline”…

(DC Examiner) — Last Monday, President Obama made news by promising to give a speech in September detailing, “a very specific plan to boost the economy, to create jobs and to control our deficit.”

But has that “very specific plan” already been downgraded to an outline?

That is, at least, the impression I got watching Obama advisors Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod on yesterday’s Sunday morning shows.

Video: Obama Runs With Vile “Bad Faith” Accusation Against Republicans

Since Obama has no (popular) accomplishments to run on, and the economy shows no signs of improving in any appreciative way before election day, the Obama camp has settled on a strategy the they are going to deploy for the next 15 months:  He is going to make excuses for his own failures (bad luck!), and accuse Republicans of near treasonous behavior – holding the economy hostage for political gain (bad faith!)

Over the weekend we we treated to multiple examples of their strategy in play. Obama deployed his characteristic passive aggressive “some in Congress” strawman in his weekly address to the nation, filmed last week, at a farm in the Midwest: “The only thing preventing us from passing these bills is the refusal by some in Congress to put country ahead of party. That’s the problem right now. That’s what’s holding this country back. That’s what we have to change.”

When the Obama administration decides on a meme – they really pound it. Obama’s former Senior Adviser, David Axelrod, surfaced over the weekend on CNN: Axelrod: Congress Putting Party Ahead of Country.

Robert Gibbs, Obama’s smarmy former White House Press Sec., appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press”: Gibbs: Congress Should Put Country Ahead of Party.

Not exactly subtle, are they?

Charles Krauthammer really  let Obama have it in his column Friday for the Obama’s accusation of bad faith against Republicans:

Charging one’s opponents with bad faith is the ultimate political ad hominem. It obviates argument, fact, logic, history. Conservatives resist Obama’s social-democratic, avowedly transformational agenda not just on principle but on empirical grounds, as well — the economic and moral unraveling of Europe’s social-democratic experiment, on display today from Athens to the streets of London.

Obama’s answer? He doesn’t even engage. That’s the point of these ugly accusations of bad faith. They are the equivalent of branding Republicans enemies of the people. Gov. Rick Perry has been rightly chided for throwing around the word “treasonous” in reference to the Fed. Obama gets a pass for doing the same, only slightly more artfully, regarding Republicans. After all, he is accusing them of wishing to see America fail for their own political gain. What is that if not a charge of betraying one’s country?

The charge is not just ugly. It’s laughable. All but five Republican members of the House — moderate, establishment, tea party, freshman alike — voted for a budget containing radical Medicare reform knowing it could very well end many of their careers. Democrats launched gleefully into Mediscare attacks, hardly believing their luck that Republicans should have proposed something so politically risky in pursuit of fiscal solvency. Yet Obama accuses Republicans of acting for nothing but partisan advantage.

This from a man who has cagily refused to propose a single structural reform to entitlements in his three years in office. A man who ordered that the Afghan surge be unwound by September 2012, a date that makes no military sense (it occurs during the fighting season), a date not recommended by his commanders, a date whose sole purpose is to give Obama political relief on the eve of the 2012 election. And Obama dares accuse others of placing politics above country?

Here’s Krauthammer,  unable to conceal his contempt for Obama’s “vile” bad faith strategy, spoke with Monica Crowley (filling in for O’Reilly) on Friday.

The accusations of bad faith are made in bad faith. Leftists ALWAYS  project, and since Obama was elected, we’ve seen a record  number of examples of lefty projection. I guess you can add that to his list of “historic” achievements.
