The Great Government ShutDown Is Becoming Public Relations Debacle For Regime

On day two of the Great Government Shut Down, WWII veterans once again crossed the Regime’s barricades to enter into their memorial.

Although Dingy Harry Reid tried to blame the memorial shutdowns on the GOP, earlier today, a spokesman from the National Park Service has confirmed that it was the White House OMB that ordered the barricades.

On Hannity, last night Rand Paul said Some Government ‘Idiot’ Sent ‘Goons’ To Barricade WWII Memorial. But that was before we found out that the WH OMB was behind it. Moments ago on The Mike Huckabee Show, he said, (paraphrasing) ‘the President assigned 5 sec guards to protect WWII memorial – that’s 2 more than he had in Benghazi’…

Meanwhile, according to According to the Washington Examiner’s Charlie Spieringtwo more groups of veterans are planning to break through the barriers, World War II veterans from Missouri and Kansas will arrive Wednesday morning to visit the memorial and about 12 members of Congress plan to join them.

That is not all. There are over 35,000 veterans scheduled to visit the memorial during the month of October, more than 900 in the next five days alone.

Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio has a trip scheduled to depart from Toledo on Oct. 9, according to local reports.

The Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio President Lee Armstrong was told that his group of WWII veterans would face arrest if they tried to cross the barricades.

He says they are considering going ahead with the trip even if the government is still on shutdown, but when he called the parks service, he was told they would face arrest. “I said, are you kidding me? You’re going to arrest a 90/91-year-old veteran from seeing his memorial? If it wasn’t for them it wouldn’t be there. She said, ‘That’s correct sir.’”

When Armstrong asked for her name, he says she did not give it to him and then promptly hung up the phone.

Meanwhile, the WH Deputy Press Secretary is Tweeting WWII Memorial ‘Ransom Notes’:

The American public is getting a very good look once again at Chicago-style hard-ball politics, and I doubt they like what they’re seeing. In fact, I think maybe the best thing we’ve got going for our side right now, is Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama.

The Colonial Williamsburg-type historical recreation never closed through all the shutdowns of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Because, of course, it was self-sufficient, as it charges money for entry, and keeps (shock!) a balanced budget.

The difference this time?

Obama, Reid, and Pelosi. And the Unified Caucus of the Leftist Media.

The National Park Service has ordered the closure of a Virginia park that sits on federal land, even though the government provides no resources for its maintenance or operation. The Claude Moore Colonial Farm announced on Wednesday that NPS has ordered it to suspend operations until Congress agrees to a deal to fund the federal government.

According to Anna Eberly, managing director of the farm, NPS sent law enforcement agents to the park on Tuesday evening to remove staff and volunteers from the property.

“You do have to wonder about the wisdom of an organization that would use staff they don’t have the money to pay to evict visitors from a park site that operates without costing them any money,” she said.

“We could run our entire athletics program and conduct events as we always do without any government funds,” Gladchuk said. “In talking to the Air Force athletic director, their football team could execute the trip without government funding.”

Asked why the Department of Defense was suspending intercollegiate athletic contests if government funds are not required, Gladchuk said he was told it was about “optics.”

“It’s a perception thing. Apparently it doesn’t resonate with all the other government agencies that have been shut down,” Gladchuk said.

  1. Oh man, talk about a political tin ear. Obama could turn this into a PR bonanza for the left by going to the Memorial and personally escorting vets through.

But there is no way this thought even crosses his arrogant mind-his disdain for out military is so palpable it send out emanations-hell I can feel them all the way here in CO

All these *ocksuckers are stewing in their own bile and it’s on full display for everyone.

  2. It’s nasty comment time….

The egregious disrespect that the Obama bullies have for our WWII Veterans – brave men and women from The Greatest Generation – is unconscionable!! I sincerely hope that Americans who haven’t awoken yet from the ObamaBorgBot Kool-Aid stupor will FINALLY see this corrupt, wannabe dictator and criminal, (not to mention his Commie roots, crushing of our U.S. Constitution, and his horrid support and attitude of defiance for Muslim jihadists) for the horrible creep that he really is!!!

  3. Unfortunately, most of the kool-aid drinkers don’t see what we see because you have to search for the truth, these days, and they’re not looking. They get fed pablum by the MSM day in and day out, so they don’t really know what’s going on. I figure the 40-45% of Americans who still support this president after 5 years of this horror show – are never going to figure it out because the MSM will never turn on him.

  4. I heard one report that said the National Park Service was “going to allow the Vets into the Memorial, because it was their First Amendment Right.” . . . . . . . So I suppose it would safe to conclude that it “isn’t” a First Amendment Right for the rest of us to enter. What a bunch of first class idiots.

We should expect the roll out of the usual “useful idiots – drones – dopey libs – parrots” repeating the administrations position of why they have been forced to close or cut back on the services they provide. Already they’ve cancelled the Navy – Air Force game this weekend not because of funding, but “optics”. Ain’t that rich?
