Powerful Tea Party Commercial

What makes it all the more poignant is that it was put together by a high school kid. This is from the information provided on YouTube:

This resulted from a Mom in Alabama asking her high school son to help with a commercial for the Tea Party she was involved in organizing. Boy, does it slam the message home. Very impressive.
Here is her note:
“I asked Justin if he could help me make a commercial for my group’s Tea Party. He sat down at the laptop for about an hour, and then brought this to me and asked, ‘is this okay, Mom?’ After I finished watching it, my stomach was in my throat.
Everyone that I have sent it to has really enjoyed it, so I wanted my friends to see it. I am so proud!”
A very powerful video…turn up the sound & sit back…!!!

  1. If only our President or 10 Senate Democrats actually believed in the values shown here…if only! They are blinded by their own arrogance and supposed power. I pray daily for our country and for them to come to their senses!

  2. Great job, wonderful message and all done with music and pictures. Great to know our young folks think of more than just the latest video games.

  3. It is truly unfortunate – if all the fact-check sites weren’t documenting an absolute flood of blatant lies coming out of the right wingnuts and the teabaggers right now, I might be more willing to believe that this isn’t a K Street production behind a homey mask. Maybe some kid really did put this together and more power to him if he did. But given that everything else coming over the right field wall gets shot down in the light of day…

  4. Great Video, kid got it!!!
Guess Rich got his panties in a wad.. he should be a shame of himself coming over here and being just rude..But that is the way of those who would take your rights..Attack always.
    Never anything positive..
P.S. Rich I wouldn’t trust those fact check sites to much.. They are all connected to the Annenberg Society
same people who wrote letters to Clinton pretty much demanding HE attack Iraq, and he did…

  5. Some high school kid did this in an hour? I don’t think so. Perhaps a high school kid could have done it, but not that fast. Even with a concept in hand, it would take longer than that to track down all the photos if you had them on a disk and a few more hours to lace them together with all the panning, captions, etc. I find it sad to see fully professional work trivialized with a ditzy intro like that!

On the other hand, I recognize enough photos to know most are ripped from websites. Maybe the real author does not want to be known for fear of being nailed for copyright violation..

  6. Exactly, I was struck by how most of these images (aside from copyright violations) cost taxpayers money! Not much of this video suggests to lower taxes. Iraq and the Space Race-what do these have to do with the Tea Party and taxes?
Did a kid do this in one hour? Possibly. I have done enough video work to tell you no. If this video was anti-tax in nature, the images don’t really support the Tea Party concept. Many were not even supported by conservatives. The black sailor being integrated into the military was not a conservative cause. Hitler, where did that one come from? The Japanese brought us into WWII. What is with 9/11? This has actually caused a huge deficit, with billions going to no-bid contracts. Everything in the video has cost taxpayers or increase gov’t size (Dept. of Defense, NASA,…) These are typical images to illicit a Pavlovian response from conservatives. (Before you sling your mud at me, I am very center on the political spectrum.) Again, I hear that liberals are taking away your rights. Wake up! What was Bush’s secret wiretapping program without warrants, etc.? How about Cheney not being part of the gov’t, therefore not being required to turn over official documents?

  7. Copyright violations? I’d be honored if he swiped a pic from my site. I can’t imagine any conservative blogger objecting.

    Cost taxpayer money? Whaa?

If you’re interested in deficits, you might be interested in this chart:

Since when is a Pavlovian response unlawful, not that I agree with your premise?

    Little you say makes sense.

I doubt very much you’re from the middle of the political spectrum, you sound very much like an uninformed, confused lib to me.

Looks like you could use some good old-fashioned hegemony.

    We’ll be happy to oblige.
