Holy Cow, after Obama, his Spox, and Kerry all went out on a limb to say that there was no doubt at all about who was behind the attack, comes this latest report via Weasel Zippers:
WASHINGTON (AP) — The intelligence linking Syrian President Bashar Assad or his inner circle to an alleged chemical weapons attack is no “slam dunk,” with questions remaining about who actually controls some of Syria’s chemical weapons stores and doubts about whether Assad himself ordered the strike, U.S. intelligence officials say.
President Barack Obama declared unequivocally Wednesday that the Syrian government was responsible, while laying the groundwork for an expected U.S. military strike.
“We have concluded that the Syrian government in fact carried these out,” Obama said in an interview with “NewsHour” on PBS. “And if that’s so, then there need to be international consequences.” […]
An intercept of Syrian military officials discussing the strike was among low-level staff, with no direct evidence tying the attack back to an Assad insider or even a senior Syrian commander, the officials said.
So while Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday that links between the attack and the Assad government are “undeniable,” U.S. intelligence officials are not so certain that the suspected chemical attack was carried out on Assad’s orders, or even completely sure it was carried out by government forces, the officials said. […]
Another possibility that officials would hope to rule out: that stocks had fallen out of the government’s control and were deployed by rebels in a callous and calculated attempt to draw the West into the war.
But but but how can this be? Jay Carney said it would be “preposterous” to think otherwise!

UPDATE:
Let’s not let them re-frame the issue into “who did what to whom”, the real issue is “It’s NONE of our responsibility either way.” So why chase after this WWIII tar-baby?

Wrut-wroooooo! Things aren’t working out so great for obozo here.
Once again he opened his mouth and wrote a check his ass can’t cash. This is how many now?
Merkel is luke warm about doing anything, along with the Frenchies. So obozo puts PM Cameron in charge of getting things done, ‘cept he is no Tony Blair and this isn’t George Dubya. He was going to send Cameron to the U.N. to get a Security Council Resolution, so his fingerprints weren’t on the request and his radical U.N. Ambassador didn’t have to expend a credibility trying to get one of her own.
As usual “someone” hasn’t completely thought this entire thing out. Least of all that Cameron couldn’t get past his own House of Commons. So we can scratch the U.N. thingy. So I guess he is going to go it alone and probably start World War III {without any authorization } or once again “someone” is going to publicly start munching on a shit samwich.
Don’t you love it when a dopey lib, radical plan comes together? It’s what “Leading from behind” will get you every single time when you have complete amateurs in charge.

….. and Benghazi was an uncoordinated and unplanned attack triggered by an offensive YouTube video. If this is true, I wonder if Obama et al, are behind these weapons falling into rebel hands.

Obama knew it was a video that killed our ambassador in Libya. Now Obama,a knows Assad is lobbing in weapons of mass destruction in his cities. France is waiting to confirm. England doesn’t care to find out. Our allies are leaving, and Obama is embracing Muslim terrorist groups to help. We are screwed.
